Temple of Heaven, the iconic 14th century Taoist temple every Chinese Emperor had to visit twice a year. I plan to build a full-scale replica in North Carolina for use as a retreat center. Its roundness is the shape of heaven; its trinity mirrors the harmony of the 3 streams of Qi (yin, yang, yuan) and the 3 treasures of Tao: Earth, Humans, and Heaven.

I am just back from China. Wow! Did we have intense levels of fun and transformation on the 2014 China Dream Trip. The thirty people from six countries started as strangers, but now feel like one solid spiritual family. That is the power of doing qigong daily in powerful sacred mountains and temples.
Please take the quick visual tour, 20 top photos that capture the diversity and richness of the trip and another 50 on the Healing Tao USA facebook page if your appetite is whetted for more. All 70 photos have captions.

The next China Dream Trip will not be until August 2016, and wil include Mt. Changbai and probably Mt. Hua, the two most powerful mountains I’ve found in China. We’ll go in August to get the clear weather over the volcanic lake on Mt. Changbai, the root mountain of the Healing Tao lineage.
To be added to the early notification email list for the 2016 trip, send an email to info@healingtaousa.com and put “China 2016” in the subject line and your name if it is not in your email address.

Want to Explore Creativity & Qigong? Learn a new Tai Chi form?
NEW Retreats Offered this Summer
We’ve got a new teacher this year, famous author and creativity expert Michael Gelb. He is a long time qigong enthusiast and teacher. He has embedded his deep knowledge into a special qigong form — Da Vinci Creativity Qigong — that breaks new ground. His new book includes a section by me on using the Inner Smile to tap into one’s creative potential. Michael is a terrific addition to our faculty and I urge you to explore his novel perspectives on ancient methods of self-cultivation.
In addition we have a new multi-level Tai Chi Qigong retreat with Steven Sy never before offered. This is a short form, easy to learn (only 13 movements), but very grounded and very powerful for health or self-defense.
Minke de Vos is one of the best Medical Qigong teachers in America, and has synthesized many different systems together over her 30+ years in the Tao. Her Healing Love: Taoists Sexual Secrets co-taught with Michael Winn is a perennial favorito.
Andrew McCart‘s Tao Yin (Chinese yoga) will open any practitioner of any yogic style to new depths and power of Qi flow. He teams up with Steven Sy for a highly praised Fusion 1 & Iron Shirt 1 course, and teaches the higher levels of both practices as well.
Jampa Stewart is one of the most advanced Chi Nei Tsang teachers and teaches both levels 1 and 2 back to back. This is an extraordinary opportunity for healers of all kinds to keep their hands on skills of deep internal organ and channel work.
Frank Allen is revealing his “inner door” transmission of his teacher’s 9 Palace Bagua form.
Tina Zhang is a many time champion tai ji teacher who this year is including Wu Sword moves for the students of her Northern Wu taijiquan long form. For those able to absorb the extra practice.
Michael Winn is offering a deep integration of qigong and Taoist internal alchemy (neidangong), a progressive training that moves through Sexual Alchemy, Sun-Moon Alchemy, Planetary alchemy, Star Alchemy, and Heaven & Earth Alchemy. The courses must be taken in sequence, and alternate year teaching schedule means possibly learning some by homestudy.
Our Blue Ridge mountain setting is very special, the courses are wonderful, and the other folks are fabulous people. This is YOUR community. All at an amazingly low price.
The key thing is that retreat prices have been kept low – unchanged for the 9th year in a row!!! Tuition is still only $495 for a week. Wow! The live transmission is worth the extra travel cost.
Commuters still welcome ($100. facility fee). They have the option of eating with the folks who are staying on campus.
Our low prices only possible because of generous subsidies from my non-profit organization. But low prices relies on getting a sufficient volume of signups. So the best way to support your Taoist ideals and stay in touch with a wonderful spirtual community is to signup for a retreat or two. The people you’ll meet at these retreats are as fun, inspiring and valuable as the retreat itself.
