Wendy,
This is what separates people – pride. It is good to have self-dignity and self-respect for oneself, but pride is what creates tension because it serves as a spark to ignite conflict. Look at all the religious wars and nationalism brought on by pride, it serves only to create conflict which in turn, has one destination, fear.
Woman pride is different than nationalistic pride but in this sense, they remain the same. The relationship between man and woman is not one of harmony but one that seeks dominance over the other because of pride.
I am presenting my view based on this discussion. You are proud of your self and this creates more fear within. It is like a bodybuilder who is proud of his big muscles to continue lifting weights because he is proud of what he is, he is gladly accepted into society and women love him because of his muscles, they adore him, and men idolize him – they are jealous of him.
Inside, he is a scared little boy. He is scared that if he loses those big muscles than he will be nothing. His pride will be wasted and he cannot accept himself. Women will no longer adore him and men will see him as the “average”. Instead of pride, choose self-acceptance and accept who you are and look at self-image, not the image imposed by the Western world.
This goes for not just bodybuilders, but women alike. So too, you Wendy, are scared that without your womanhood and your ability of free expression, men have dominance. You cannot accept that male dominance and use that to strengthen your pride for your womanhood. It is true, that society wrongly embraces male dominance in this way, and woman have bottled up tension inside, but choosing to be proud of who they are is becoming more yang. It is fighting fire with fire, a step in the wrong direction.
This is how I see it and my presentation of pride.
Smiles to you Wendy,

So you suggest that both categories are contaminated with pride? That we pump up our feminity like muscles? Really you make me laugh.
But let me take this deduction of yours to this:
Tell me what is the difference with a person who believes he is so good at martial arts or meditation? Tell me truelly how many of the people on this forum are hoping or even just believe they will become enlightened or immortal?
O I see, but that is ‘different’, that is the right aim…. yet is it not said, enlightenment can not be an aim… it is a state of being. You see, I start off ‘being a woman’… if I am not in connection with my earthly nature as a woman I can not even be close to ‘being’ at all. Going step by step.
The more I understand ‘woman’, the more I understand ‘man’, the more I understand the gate way in between. Fire and water and the neutral portal. Kan and Li.
So my feminity is just one part of the trinity, and I have no problem with admitting I am A woman because this is not the end, just the very beginning…And if I was not truelly committed to the understanding that males are great I would not be on this forum at all. I am not a masochist, I am a believer. I believe that man and woman together have the master key for the main door.

You take my words to heart too much. You are very dramatic and complicated. I just meant to share some of my thoughts on pride with you because you said you were proud of your womanhood. As long as you stop with your insults/comments/”questions” about me I am satisfied.
Good luck,
FajinApril 15, 2006 at 1:36 pm #12743wendyParticipantO I see, now you make the switch that I am too dramatic and complicated. You were not ‘just’ sharing you were trying to make a statement.
But okay, I will not cross you any longer as requested.April 15, 2006 at 1:41 pm #12745FajinParticipantOK, as long as it does not limit your free will Wendy. If it embraces your womanhood to express yourself both negative and positive then cross me. Go ahead, say I’m arrogant and narrow-minded, if it makes you feel more like a woman.

April 16, 2006 at 5:13 pm #12751Michael WinnKeymasterThis is what makes the world go round. I am sure the two of you would get along just fine, face to face. Sparks are healthy.
And just a reminder Fajin, life and relationships are not about fairness.
They are about Completion (round 7, coming soon to a theatre near you).Being young and committed to your cultivation path, relationships with women are secondary path, a side alley for you.
And, Yes, you are right – that is a complicated path.
But if your father hadn’t pursued it, what would you be cultivating?

I just wanted to say that I have alot of trust in you and I agree with 98% of what you say. This is the reason why I came to the Healing Dao in the first place. About women…

*If we are speaking in terms of preventing population decline, then sex is a must, but not cultivation. I believe I chose this life and I could have chose another life other that this one. I don't think sex is a requirement for continuation of popluation, but cultivation is a different issue. There is a difference between bedroom dual cultivation and increasing the population.

I don't think dual cultivation is required, but sex is cerainly required to continue the population. It doesn't have to be for cultivation purposes only.
