No, I’m not talking about all of the recent 911 junk that’s been dumped onto this forum . I’m talking about garbage to energy!
Why recycle when it wastes time and increases costs? Go ahead and separate your trash and spend more money on recycled paper than regular paper. It may sound like you care, but you’re being foolish. Learn to live in the now and follow the way.
An imbalance is not always bad. Sometimes a larger imbalance is needed before we can break through a barrier and make progress. Sometimes we have to realize that problems need to be passed on because someone else is able to turn a problem into an opportunity.
Geoplasma is planning to build a power plant in St. Lucie County, Florida that will generate electricity by vaporizing landfill trash and sewage treatment plant sludge with plasma arcs. It will be the first plant of its kind in the USA and the largest in the world. The power plant is expected to destroy 3000 tons of garbage, generating about 120 megawatts of electricity per day. The plant will also supply steam to a nearby Tropicana juice plant. The landfill is expected to be depleted in about 18 years. In addition, up to 600 tons of melted, hardened sludge will be produced each day and will be sold for road construction.
Specialization is a good thing. I’m not equipped to handle garbage, so I’ll let someone else do it.
