Hi.
From different sources (‘awakening healing light’) I knew to ‘stay away from opening the throat at early stages’. And, from an instructor, to stay on the heart point very little (2 secs).
What if one is tight over there? Or feels his heart could be more ‘open’? I’d like to explore the throat and heart nuances, but I’m not the teacher 🙂any suggestion?
thanks!October 18, 2006 at 2:07 am #18675Alexander AlexisParticipant“I’d like to explore the throat and heart nuances, but I’m not the teacher :)”
My suggestion is that you rethink this premise.

sometimes i have gone places and felt not good or sick and so i pull back from it…then try again a little later (as in days or weeks later) and other places have opened up and all is fine
alternatively, your teacher/friend may have had a specific reason for telling you to avoid those areas – so perhaps ask them for insight
of course if your reference to teacher is more abstract, maintain a journal of your experiences for later reference – down the track you may find surprising connections that you didn’t immediately logically connect with

If you feel blocked in the throat and only know MCO at the moment try spinning it there, and any where else you feel stuck. Smile to what ever comes up If you are having problems with smile try inner hug see if that helps. Think of a melting hug. If you build a good foundation the heart on up will come easier, realy everything will.

Holistically speaking, ‘whole’ is good, ‘part’ is bad, ain’t it? In ‘Awaken healing light of the Tao’ there’s no clear mention of avoiding the heart. Massages are also suggested to open the point.
But I know there’s another book alerting about this issue (Awaken healing energy through Tao, I guess).October 19, 2006 at 9:42 am #18683wendyParticipantThe reason why the throat is avoided: because it is the portal to other dimensions. If not grounded enough it can cause disturbances in your inter- and outer – (if that is said in English) dimensional communication and cause emotional and psychological problems. Stepping into another dimension can be pretty shocking if not prepared and entities like to stick around your throat….like glue
The heart is obvious for reasons of over-heating, yet you don’t have to avoid the heart, just don’t built up too much pressure, too much focus on heart while other points are not opened yet is not so healthy.

And… did you step into another dimension? 🙂October 19, 2006 at 10:16 am #18687wendyParticipantyes
several
best to feel ground zero, that is why centering in the lower dantian is SO important
October 19, 2006 at 12:59 pm #18689silvParticipantHow do you know they were dimensions, and not mind tricks?
And, in case, is knowing other dimensions worth it?thanks
October 19, 2006 at 1:31 pm #18691wendyParticipantSly:how do you know they were dimensions?
That is the BIG question I struggled with many many years because the mind is sooooooo clever. And the answer is I don’t know.
It is like my dreams, are they real, is my dream real? Is that just another dimension? Or just a part of me that is telling me something? An inner dimension then? In – Out, all the same, different layers of me, I move in and more in and looks like I am out, but is it? or am I just even more in, or is it in and out at the same time?
You see I don’t know, I just move between the layers, is it real? Yes. Mind tricks? Possible. Does that mean it is less real? No
Sly: is it worth to know?
My only rule: I am the ruler, I am the captain of my ship and I apply whatever I encounter for the good, even less good is to be transformed, I am the star in my own universe and I shine my light as I wish.
So is it worth to know? So far… yes, it absolutely helped me to be who I am today
Was it fun? NO
No fun, but I am funny…

But the heart itself and the spiritual heart center are different and I believe that meditation on the center of the chest, the middle dantien, is very healthy all around. If you think you have a problem with building heat in your heart you ought to experiment with sending heart fire down into the ldt or kidneys/ming men. Circulating thru the orbit is essential in any case.
If you are grounded and feeling balanced no amount of meditation on the spiritual heart will affect you adversely. But this is a matter of practice.
All things have to be in balance. I am reminded of a very favorite quote of mine from the Japanese farmer Masanobu Fukuoka who is considered the father of modern natural farming. He was totally daoist in his approach and got more and better product with less work because he was concerned about understanding how nature did things and following her. His thought on things was:
“Anything seen in isolation from the whole is not the real thing.”
All these levels of practices call for a constant reevaluating of how you feel overall. That’s why they take time and so few people do them. Like farming, it is a matter of going into the field everyday and seeing what wants to happen. This is what cultivation, spiritual or agricultural, is all about.
Love and healthy growing, Alexander

Not shure what statement of mine implied that.
“Why the heart is a no no?”
When dealing with MCO and Fusion the charged pearl can be to much for the heart so you do not want to keep it there it can cause sickness. Just pass through when doing MCO. I do not know where you are at in your practice. So this is general. I do not know if you are working with any guides. You can invite Jesus, Buddha, ect into your heart to guide you. Just honestly ask then to make your heart there home, invite the life force in. Ask your guide to teach you true acceptance.
October 27, 2006 at 11:24 pm #18697Michael WinnKeymasterAA is making a good point here – the inner heart that we tap into with the Inner Smile is in no way dangerous to go into deeply. It is endlessly deep. But the wudang orbit method is different – that is playing with a particular way of concentrating the jing and chi in the body. And it produces an electro-magnetic charge that CAN SHOCK THE PHYSICAL HEART.
So “heart” is meaningless term in general, must examine its role in a particular practice.
Good heartedly yours,
