    Hi everyone

One thing that has been puzzling me for some time is the issue of the transmutation of jing to chi in internal alchemy. There is obviously a lot of emphasis on this process as it is a first step in more fully embodying our original spirit.

However, part of the natural aging process also involves the gradual transmutation of jing into chi or shen over many years and yet this leads to physical decline and ultimately death. Why then, in internal alchemy does it lead to the opposite? Is it because we are spending a lot of time opening up the channels of communication to our prenatal self where our jing can be constantly replenished, or are there other reasons as well?

Does this then mean that if someone were to practise exercises e.g. bone breathing or testicle/ovarian breathing in isolation without taking them as part of a complete system integrating the five shen and the 8 channels then they could speed up their jing decline.

Not sure if I have worded this very well. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
