I´ve been experimenting lately with feeling the energy of my family as it expresses itself in my body. For instance during fusion, I gather any excess heat Im still resonating with from each of my grandparents into my heart collection point. The results have been quite illuminating. Seems its never too late to get to know your ancestors, even ones who have long ago died. And perhaps working with the energy this way can be healing for them too somehow. Remember reading something from Juan Li, a healing tao instructor, who said its a myth that the past can´t be changed. Could this be what he meant? Any thoughts? Anybody else out there doing something similar

I have run into some family issues myself in the past year and I have come to believe that this is as important for them as it is for me. I have even felt them manipulating my life so I would be confronted with some of the old pain in order to work through it. I feel they very much aprove of what I am doing here.
They have shared their pain in order for me to understand my own.
My pattern is also their pattern. It’s in my genes. In that sense we are one.
Wether that means I can change the past, I don’t know. I like the idea.

In any case, working with family memories (and other memories) is essential and very rich with emotions and energies.
Our past can certainly be changed. Our memories are biased by how we were when that memory formed. When our circumstances change, as we get older and spiritually deeper and socially wider, we are able to understand our past in broader ways.
My approach is remembering the detail of the memory (whether of this lifetime or another) as sensorially fully as I can. I don’t get lost in it, as I keep some of my consciousness rooted in my lower tan tien with a neutral/wise/loving energy from kan and li.
When I remember the detail of the memory, I follow it through my body, notice its colors, how it moves, how different qualities are in different parts of it and so on. The kan and li allows me to witness this without losing myself to it or from it.
What happens for me is that after it I feel released by that part of my past. That can seem “good” for bad memories, but “bad” for good memories. That is – the process cuts both ways. The good memories fade as much as the bad ones.
How does this influence others? My reiki teacher told me “you know those times when someone unexpectedly pops into your head and you have a fleeting good or bad memory of them? Well, that is when those people think strongly of you. When you do work like this, releasing the energetic ties between you, this will influence them as well.”
The “funny” thing about this is how I do this with memories of my sister and think, oh good, the next time she visits she won’t trigger me…but she does! in ways I hadn’t yet processed, or processed fully. I look forward to when she no longer triggers me and…ah, that is something subtle to process!
