Hello everyone,
I have been thinking alot and looking back over all my postings here. This forum has been quite an integral part of my life over the time I’ve known it, even when I was absent, and I notice that it has a way of bringing people’s sensitivities up. I don’t know what has been happening recently – it doesn’t look like much has been happening really! – but the energy here feels a little bit exhausted in a way.
I was wondering if anyone might be up for an idea I have to regenerate the energy on the forum with a ritual. Of course I might try it myself but I think a group effort would be better.
I have always tried to learn from what was said here, especially to learn where my own weaknesses were – but really, although I started out well, I haven’t succeeded. It is a tough time in the world and a difficult period for everyone perhaps, but I was really very moved looking back over the history I have with people here, and I must say, a little ashamed of the way I’ve behaved in the past. I would like to ask the forgiveness of anyone I have offended here in any way, and say that of all discussion boards, this remains the most unique and extraordinary I’ve encountered. I would like to thank everyone here for making it so.
In a way this sounds valedictory but I wasn’t thinking of it quite so, in the Scorpionic spirit of this board asking to have it die and be reborn maybe… if it is seen that this is a valuable thing for a group place to experience. Naturally I myself am at a stage of death and rebirth as I write this.
What I think at this stage is really about whether it is possible, in the rather (to me) unsettled aftermath of so many truly intense interactions, for this board to be a place of peace and support as well… it is perhaps a little difficult, I don’t know, I feel so somewhat. I had an idea one time that the board should have a ‘quiet, supportive’ area and a ‘vital and noisy’ area, where people could post accordingly!
I have to say what has made this place more valuable to me than any other has been that people are allowed to be just people. I am sure that in some sense we are all struggling to be, as one teacher of mine once said, ‘more than human, but not *other* than human’… the fact that this place is not doctrinaire is wonderful, because we are all posting just as we find fit. This I love. But the beauty of this place is mostly to me a matter of having truly interesting people always passing through just being intensely human as they seek.
Still I do see the ghosts perhaps of old arguments (some of which I certainly had a hand in!) which need laying to rest and some rejuvenatory qigong could be applied to the forum itself in so doing. I have an idea how it could be done, if people were up for it.
In the meantime – I love you all, and just wanted to remind myself and you of this!
love Jason

A lot of my attention and intention goes to just one place at the moment: sitting in the eye of the storm…it is the only right place to be, so don’t move me too much with your ritual 😉 but I do hear your intention.

ALOHA MAHALO, MAHALO ALOHA
means “thank you I love you, I love you thank you” or something like that. That wouldn’t move anyone out of where they are…
give it a chant, think of the people on the forum, think of the forum, think of yourself.
ALOHA MAHALO, MAHALO ALOHA
ALOHA MAHALO, MAHALO ALOHA
ALOHA MAHALO, MAHALO ALOHA🙂

You know, as the first person I was ever an asshole to on this forum, you have a special place in my heart Freeform!
For the ritual though I was thinking something with a bit more kick.
Eg:
– Pick auspicious day and hour.
– Make a sigil (everyone makes their own, everyone makes and posts and we combine them, whatever…) for good vibes, energy and openness on the forum
– At appointed hour, light candle, do wuji gong/deep healing qigong/ some other ritual of energy
– At end, send energy raised into sigil
– Burn sigil in candle, allow candle to burn down, and forget all about it.This stuff works! But I’ve never done it virtually before esp. not for a virtual institution and I am curious to see the results.
BTW anyone wanting a Taoist example of this technique can check out ‘Opening the Dragon Gate’ – there it’s used to cure a whole village of cholera! Thankfully we are not trying anything like that…
Wendy I would never knock you around, the idea is this would be a general gentle raising of openness etc. for forum users and communication, not some sudden explosion. And it would sort of be unthinkable to me not to have you involved actually, I think of you as soon as I think of this place…
Well think about it! It’s just a thought. The only objection to this kind of thing generally is that the place just gets fucked up again after a while, but in this case we are all cultivating strongly and hopefully learning so I would not worry about this.
All the best, Jason
July 11, 2007 at 8:56 am #22880JernejParticipantThere is never a need that cannot be.
Non-energy investment is:
start your ritual practice
…
the forum
go to the heart of the forum
identify/allign with the forum
accept all the resistance to others
accept all the resistance in others
accept all the resistance to individual expression
savour the moment,
that’s it
come back and forget itJuly 11, 2007 at 9:08 am #22882NnonnthParticipant… I was rather attached to the idea of it being done in a synchronized fashion, that’s all… and personally would prefer a sense of clearing the resistance than just accepting it! Call me old-fashioned. Jason

I enjoyed our exchanges. You're a good guy, I'm glad you're back and a little more 'open'.
I like your idea. Although I dont like 'clearing resistance' – would prefer 'cultivating openness' or something like that – clearing resistance is like protection spells – it attracts things to be protected from and resistance to be cleared.
I'll be happy to partcipate in the ritual – although this is not how I go about things these days (I'm probably more like Jernej – cultivating acceptance of what is).
July 11, 2007 at 2:43 pm #22886NnonnthParticipant… pardon moi. Seriously I remember Steven doing Healing Qigong to get rid of smoking habit at equinox (I think) last time I was here. It’s just that kind of thing. Just the way you might remove blockages from an orbit. I’ve already done this with institutions but not online ones!
Tell ya what, I will organize something for next weekend (not this but one following) and then anyone who wants can join in. If someone says no don’t do it then of course I won’t… I will make sure to post loud and clear… Sunday is best day I think.
Does anyone know the date this forum began operations? Not that important but would be interesting.

July 16, 2007 at 11:23 am #22888JernejParticipantThen such as-is is in stagnation. What is is a neutral now.
It is a tricky business to work against something. As they say, resistance makes persistance.
In Steven case, if he resolves his resistance to smoking, only his body of pure love for smoking remains.
Alternative is e.g. alligning with the center of health, and letting the smoking practice resolve its relationship with that.
Which leads to will. Bardon teaches means of strenghtening the will. Yet this is grounded in upper dan tien center. Grounding will shows in action, even if internal. It shows in determined action of processing the resistance, that pop up when resolute, to their ‘logical’ end. The consistance of such action is will.Healing is staying healthy in hearth presence.
PS: this is not a no. about decisions and self-limiting decisions, i have seen most clearly described in slavinski book aspectics, though from arhat/budhist perspective. and once in a notation of non-aristotelian (?) logic in a beardon book, where “not(A)=B”.
