Note: I don’t know Thomas Hahn, but got this from my Society for Study of Chinese Religions list.
Great documentary of sites from 1981 to now. Many of these sites have been renovated since he visited them.
A great way to scout out a place before visiting. He also has some fabulous shots of my favorite mountain, Huashan.

From Thomas Hahn:
For those of you interested in visual narratives of China’s
Grotto-Heavens and
URL http://hahn.zenfolio.com/f442307017/ might be of interest.
The material is a selection of my photograhic record of visits
to over 70 Daoist sites; the earliest images date from 1981,
the most recent ones from June 2007 (Wangwu shan in Henan
province).
In addition to the Daoist theme, there also is an extensive
visual record of Master Hongyi’s retreat near Quanzhou, and
two Buddhist “mega-theme parks” (my nomenclature), namely,
Lingshan near Wuxi, and Nanshan near Sanya on Hainan Island.
These photographs may prove useful for consultation or
teaching purposes.
My regards and greetings to everyone,
Thomas H. Hahn
