I was thinking about color today and its appearance in
the Healing Tao system.Red: Fire, summer, heat, vitality, compassion; dissipates arrogance,
judgements, impatience, self-hatred, crueltyYellow: Earth, Indian summer, groundedness, center, transition; dissipates
worry, obsessiveness, compulsivenessGreen: Wood, spring, growth, kindness; dissipates anger,
frustration, stress, jealousy, envyBlue: Water, winter, gentleness, wisdom, peace, sexual energy;
dissipates fear, balances heart firePurple: Primordial energy, source, pure potential, stellar energy
Black: Emptiness, stillness, clarity
White: Metal, autumn, air, courage; dissipates depression,
sadness, griefGold: Healing energy, creation, inner will
So along with black, white, and gold, we have all the colors of
the rainbow–except orange.Does orange have any use?
Not that I’m a particular fan of orange, but I’m just curious.Smiles,

No. Orange is a “junk color.” Like so much DNA, orange has no real meaning in our lives. It’s one of nature’s mistakes.
If fact, I’m surprised that there aren’t more colors that are junk. Maybe they all are, and we are just so depressed about that that we make up meanings for them all so we don’t go crazy.
Like black. What good is that, really? It’s just dark. It has no personality of it’s own; it’s totally receptive and passive. What good is it? You could get lost in black and never get out! (Oooooohhhh, that’s why they call them “black holes”!)
Black must be a junk color too.
And then there’s green. It’s all over the place on this planet. You have to go way outta your way to get away from green. Who needs that much of one color? MUST be a mistake.
Personally, I like plaid. Now there’s a color! Lots of movement, lots of interaction.
And now, regrettably, I have to sign my name to this-
AlexanderAugust 21, 2007 at 4:43 am #23754StevenModeratorYou knew what I meant 🙂
I meant “is there any association to orange in the Healing Tao system?”
Of course, any associations we make to various colors are just constructs
of the mind anyway, but I was just curious.Your ridiculously to-the-extreme thick sarcasm in this post did
have me rolling, though. Thanks for a hearty laugh,
SteveAugust 21, 2007 at 10:53 am #23756voiceParticipantwho can compete with that?!
August 21, 2007 at 12:44 pm #23758DogParticipant“just” constructs of the mind anyway. I would pay attention to this one.
It seems to me that the roy g biv is a differnt level and the simpler the level you go the more the qualitys merge until you get to the very simple trinary.
August 21, 2007 at 5:20 pm #23760Alexander AlexisParticipantThank you. Thank you. Don’t applaud. Just throw money.
I’ve determined that the world is much too serious and we need more humor here. Laughter is healing. We’re supposed to be part of the cutting edge of consciousness. Let’s get busy!

I thought I’d share with you all . . .Now you could say “because they need chlorophyll to produce
photosynthesis for energy, and chlorophyll is green”.The real question is “why did plants *choose* to be green?”
I learned this cute fact when I took optics:
The sun is not yellow.
In fact, the sun is blue-green.We see the sun as yellow, because even though the
sun puts out less yellow than blue-green, our
optic nerve in our eye is the most sensitive to
yellow. In the ROY G BIV spectrum, we see
yellow the easiest, and it decreases in either
direction. When the sun strikes our atmosphere, the blue
and violet of the spectrum scatter in the atmosphere
due to higher scattering with higher frequency.
This incidentally is why the sky is blue. With the sun being predominantly blue-green and
the blue and violet of the spectrum getting
lost in the atmosphere, the predominant
color striking the earth is green. Thus (most) plants chose to be green, because
by doing so they make the most of what the sun provides.Cheers,
