k1 breathing is good, but what about heel breathing? perhaps that is better? or both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I find that when I concentrate on my heel it not only activates k1 if i realize it, but also grounds me even more, perhaps its because the heel is the best tendon! you can make a whole bowl of tendon soup with it.
you can push a ton of spirits off a cliff with it, into a fiery inferno, where there is no water, just fire

my experience that all kinds of stuff opens up about the foot and the earth. just so that you start somewhere on the foot, and get the ball rolling, and it cascades to other nearby foot acupoints etc opening. (Pretty much the whole foot is nearby any other pt on the foot.) k1 is one classic way to do that (and there’s definately some good stuff about the earth-foot-kidney energy cnxn). but if you’ve found another door into the whole foot thing – cool!

🙂December 12, 2004 at 10:31 pm #2387MatthewQiParticipantTo connect with Mother Earth. And they also breath through their crown to connect with Father Heaven. To get too fixated on this and the exact points and such is an error (imo). Better to do this, which is what I believe was meant…. And which is the basis for alchemy…

December 13, 2004 at 4:13 pm #2389jsritParticipantDoing regular squats is really hard for me, however, I was watching a shaoilin video and it showed a dude squating with his legs out to the side at maybe a 15 degree angle? Hands came in, together, as if praying. Any tips on that?

December 13, 2004 at 8:02 pm #2393TrunkParticipantWell, first of all, the basic purpose of the 3 amigos is to warm up all of the joints, and major muscle groups in the legs and then connect through the warmed-up layers energetically. It’s a good basic idea; however you find to accomplish it that works best for you..
> his legs out to the side at maybe a 15 degree angle? >
i have each foot & leg out at a 45.
December 14, 2004 at 11:11 am #2395YodaParticipantgoogle for photo foot bones and learn them. My favorite part of White Skeleton Meditation is visualizing each bone radiating white light & inner smile energy and then all at once. Can be done outside of formal meditation sessions too. Makes your feet vibrate–they love it!

He actually has a set of five postures (or around) where you stand with straight legs, weight on heels, and doing a few breathing techniqes. I think you start with breathing up through the legs out through the arms and then in through the arms and down through the legs down to deep earth. When you have “cleared out” you switch to counterforce breathing techniques. It is quite good. When I did this I got a feeling like I was “drinking/eating” deep chi in tan tien.
// Peace.
December 15, 2004 at 12:16 am #2399thelernerParticipantBefore I fall asleep, I’ve been ‘breathing up’ my small toes, up the sides of legs, to my crown then down my center line to my hara. Then breathing up each toe in til I am am at the big toes breathing up the following the inside of my leg, up to the crown then down to the hara.
In the Winns Tai Chi, you use your fingers both for counting and to feel the movement energy in each fingers meridian. I figure this is similar.
As long as I’m in bed and have to breath, why not do something practical. When I wake up I stay flat, but circle my feet around, then massage the soles with other foot.
Peace
Michael
December 15, 2004 at 12:30 am #2401thelernerParticipantI also keep my feet pointed about 45 degrees. Unlike ‘furey’ squats I find it much more comfortable to keep my feet(heels) flat on the ground. I can’t go as low, but as you practice them you do get lower.
I do them at a slowly and do the ocean breathing exercise mentioned in Winns Fundamental video with them.
Peace
Michael

December 19, 2004 at 4:21 pm #2405jsritParticipantMatthew Qi, can you recommend I read anything else about kundalini or anything? This meditation is great!
December 25, 2004 at 8:38 pm #2407MatthewQiParticipantHi jsirt!
Sorry, I didn’t see your post until now.
There are so many things to read and so many different ways to approach the same thing, that is the Kundalini. Do you have any strong preferences for a particular religious context or drawn to anything spiritually like shamanism, or Tao, or Buddhism, or Christianity, etc. They all have ways of contextualizing Kundalini (whether they call it that or not) and there are practices which aim for and explain the process. So let me know your preference I might be able to point you somewhere. Or just ask the universe and then pay attention to what is coming to you.
As far as straight up K, look around the site with the meditations, there is a lot of good stuff in there about it and the path after awakening.
Hope this helps you,
Matt
December 27, 2004 at 5:52 pm #2409jsritParticipantYeah I am definetly drawn to shamanism, taoism, christiany has k? I know the kabala has something like this. Buddah is not as cool as shamnism/taoism i dont feel, but I still want to know about it. I want to know everything!
