According to our local free comic ‘The London Paper’, London’s public transport network was recently asked to remove an Ann Summers (sex shop chain) ad on the grounds of obscenity. It was an ad for a vibrator: Rampant Rabbit The Wave – Wave After Wave Of Pleasure.’ It was perfectly tastefully done but apparently it turns out the text was objectionable.
When Ann Summers asked what had to be done to make the ad acceptable to the general public, the main requirement was: “Remove all reference to pleasure.”
