I have a friend with an undiagnosed illness – malaria has not been ruled out. fevers, weakness, digestive system weak. Do you have any suggestions for chi – gung – or anything else – for him?
thanks.December 16, 2004 at 3:26 pm #2455TrunkParticipant> undiagnosed illness – malaria has not been ruled out. fevers, weakness, digestive system weak. Do you have any suggestions for chi – gung..? >
Yup: Don’t do chi gung while he is sick like this. Done wrong, could make things worse. Illness increases the complexity, risks, level of skill required, dramatically.

Obviously: See a doctor.

I couldn’t find it yet. Lost posts. Will work on it more.
However should you know it easy and care to repost it, I will appreciate it.

Uh, my original answer really meant:
“Obviously (i should answer): see a doctor.”
– not –
“Obviously (why haven’t you thought of this already you idiot): see a doctor.”
😉Complicated illnesses suck.
Truth is, we’re just trying to sort out how to reliably help healthy people, here. Treating your friend is way way out of our league, imho.Sometimes a dr or Chinese medicine can help really well, where western dr’s were totally stumped. Not always, though. And, not always easy to find a good dr of Ch.medicine.
may your friend..
be free from suffering,
and free from the causes of suffering.
may he have happiness,
and have the causes of happiness.best of luck,

December 20, 2004 at 4:14 pm #2469monkeyParticipantWhere did all the regular posters here go to?
December 20, 2004 at 7:30 pm #2471Black HawkParticipantDecember 21, 2004 at 9:18 am #2473hagarParticipantIf your friend is openminded about it, finding a qigongmaster who can diagnose him/her energtically is sometimes the most efficient thing to do. Alot of undiagnosed diseases have roots not only in the physical body, but also in the energy and information level in the system.
Ofcourse do not rule out things like parasites and other more obvious diseases as well.Finding some qigong that will work on the spleen, digestion and liver, i.e the wood and earth element is also always good, also for the immunesystem.

December 22, 2004 at 4:14 am #2475JernejParticipantThanks. I missed it.
I am also enjoying sungazing through third eye.
No heavy breathing through third eye, just absorbing. It tends to disconnect me from breathing from lower dan tien.Prefer breathing through front gate of lower tan tien. Among other things it is energizing bladder.
Energizing bladder energizes eyes. There are some interesting points of gall bladder and bladder at back of head (where big neck muscles connect to scull at sides of yade pillow) and side of head (from eyes -temples-to side of jade pillow). Both meridian end at eyes.
Massaging ears and temples/behing ears tends to energize that area.
Glasses also tend to lock tension in mudra fashion (ears pulling back and up), so no using glasses as much is beneficial.
Double monocel or removing one side support from glasses frame do break the lock. Haven’t found practical solution.
Cheers, JernejDecember 22, 2004 at 12:11 pm #2477BobDParticipantTake a look at the Bates Method, which teaches you to reduce/remove the need for glasses. It realy does work.

December 23, 2004 at 5:21 am #2481JernejParticipantI have found on web this man who emphesizes threefold approach:
-Bates method (phisical)
-pranic healing (etheric level, energizing stagnant patterns with vibrant one)
-nlp processing (forming identity/reconnecting to identity you once were as child: with optimum sight)Soft eyes.
It is constantly disrupted living with somewhat compressed middle tan tien.
So I much prefer building the foundation than openings. Have a hunch what the reason is: drowning the metal in water causing stress on eye fire. Euphemism for my relations with humans.
