I liked that article.
All of this hype around 2012 kind of reminds me of Y2K. I work in the IT Support industry and man so much fear was building up around all the computers of the world’s date error. Everyone thought a huge crash with all of the computer was likely to happen. Everyone was pointing out how the computer on your refrigerator, oven, or car could also stop working. I remember it was Dec 31 1999 and I had to work though that night, in my gut instinct I knew everything was going to be OK. But I was young and wanted to be at a party instead. I wanted to party like it was 1999.

While I don’t think there will be any kind
of doomsday scenario in 2012 (unless some
nut or group of nuts tries to create one),
I *do* think that it will be a point
where spiritual consciousness accelerates
somewhat–if for no other reason then
the date has gotten a lot of people interested
in spiritual inquiry and there is a lot more
spiritual work going on because of it.So I think that because of the global
consciousness belief in the significance of 2012,
there will be some spiritual acceleration
(amount still to be determined), but it’ll just
be a side-effect of the attention–not because the
Mayan calendar ending date spells doom.As far as doomsdays are concerned,
working backward from 19999:Dec 31, 9999 is an obvious choice.
June 6, 6666 is another ( 6/6/6666 –> two devil’s numbers)
The 4772 date mentioned in the article could be another.
Any millennium date, i.e. Dec 31, 2999
Nov 2, 2035 [maybe I can create one, LOL]
(This is the Day of the Dead in the year 2035,
and 2035 smells like a year for trouble to me;
