I used to be able to feel some sort of energy below and behind my navel, usually it was like this point of vibration or electricity or something when I concentrated on it, but then I went through a day or two of prolonged social stress and anxiety (i have social anxiety ‘disorder’) and after that I can’t feel that point anymore, my abdomen just feels empty. Anybody have any idea on what might’ve happened? thanks.
November 21, 2013 at 4:00 pm #41566StevenModeratorStress, anxiety, and anxiety disorders are all symptoms of not being grounded.
Too much energy rising up into the head, fueling all kinds of “crazy” thinking that activates fear processes, worries, and inabilities to stay centered and calm.I recommend doing some grounding practices.
Ideal would be to start doing some regular standing meditation practices, ala Iron Shirt 1, with nice relaxed abdominal breathing. Deep Earth Pulsing Qigong (from QF3) can also be beneficial, if you know that. Then to reawaken your lower dantian, some Ocean Breathing.

It basically feels like some channel in my whole abdomen has disappeared, from my solar plexus area down to my root chakra area. Greatly diminished emotions and what seems to be complete loss of the spiritual aspect of life, just a sense of staleness and boredom, but my anxiety is still as strong as ever.
Is there anything I could do to understand more clearly what’s going on with me (It’s not kundalini syndrome)? any sort of energy ‘readers’ or something that I could seek out for help?

The dantian is never shut off. You wouldn’t be alive if that were the case.
The degree to which it is open, both from the prenatal realm and to its connection to the rest of the body, can vary. When most of your qi is rising into your head, fueling all kinds of anxious thinking, there is not a lot left below. This is basically what it is, in a nutshell. What you have, is a grounding problem.
That’s all it is.Not being able to feel your lower centers and feeling anxiety, all of this is a symptom of being ungrounded.
The solution to this, is not seeking extra mental information for the brain.
The brain already has too much; that’s the problem. You need to get into your body and ground yourself to the earth.
It is really that simple. There is nothing more to it.
The degree to which you feel anxiety and the degree to which you can’t feel your lower dantian, is a measurement of how ungrounded you are.You need to do some rooted standing meditation, ala Iron Shirt 1, immediately.
Stand for as long as you are able, while doing relaxed abdominal breathing, repeatedly throughout the day, and do this on consistent basis. If you do this, the problem will resolve itself. Adding on a Tai Chi routine will also help to supplement the grounding you get from Iron Shirt 1. If you have a really severe problem, then it will take a period of time of consistent daily regular practice. Grounding effects are cumulative.I taught an Iron Shirt 1 class last summer, and at the beginning of the class, a woman who joined was having anxiety and panic to such a high degree, that she was shaking violently from fear, almost like someone having an epileptic seizure. And she couldn’t feel the lower part of her body. We did A LOT of standing practice, a lot of rooting to the earth. After a few days, she felt much better. By the end of the week’s long class, she was calm, relieved, centered, and grounded . . . and thanked me profusely for helping her.
The reason I’m relating this story, is that there is nothing “wrong” where you need to be seeking out specialists, trying to give you all kinds of diagnoses. This is more “food for the brain”, the opposite of what you need. It is not going to solve your problem. Getting into your body is what will solve the problem.

December 18, 2013 at 7:57 am #41574StevenModeratorIf you want qigong, certain fast sets such Tai Chi 2, Big Dipper, and Primordial would be beneficial . . .
But really the real solution is to decrease body fat and increase muscle tone.
I would say 90% or more of sleep apnea / UARS problems are attributed to too high of a body fat percentage and low muscle tone in the neck. Once people become physically fit, this problem usually goes away on its own. It’s kind of like Type II diabetes, in that sense.
