The past few days in the morning while it’s still dark out I’ve been noticing a really bright celestial body somewhere in the northeasterly direction (northern hemisphere). Anyone follow the stars and planets to know what it is? At first I thought it was a plane but it did not move and has been consistent over the past few mornings. I am wondering if it is one of the planets and if there is any cosmological significance. Thanks!
My best guess is that it’s probably Venus.
It’s the brightest thing in the sky around 4-5am, just north of east, maybe 20 degrees above the horizon.
It’s somewhat significant given the time of year.
Venus=metal element=fall/autumn season
Perhaps it’s been sending you some qi, which is why it’s been pulling your attention, especially given the proximity in recent days to the autumnal equinox?

It’s 5am and I am looking at it now. It is extremely large, the brightest thing I have ever seen in the sky and doesn’t look circular.
Venus seems to be orbitally quite close to us on this “live” map :

Here is some unusual information about the appearance of Venus including “Ashen Light” :
Thanks, that makes sense. I’ve never really worked with or connected with the stars much at all. I do notice the big dipper and Orion’s belt during the times of the year when it is dark during my morning jogs though.
I recommend you download a program onto your computer called Stellarium.
It is completely free-of-charge, with no spyware.
It is an excellent real-sky planetarium software, which will show you at any given time, what all the stars are in the sky.
I highly recommend it.
“That’s no moon, it’s a …”
