Well I was doing deep earth pulsing and at some point I decided to try it with the weight on the front of the foot at yongchuan (instead od the heel). I felt like breathing with my feet. Neat. But even better, next time I did the healing sounds funny enough when doing the kidney sound energy was coming out through yongchuan. Neat. Then I inhaled through it, and it felt great for my kidneys and generally for my body and wellbeing.
Now I will write more about it in another post, but I have a question here: is this safe for a beginner? Because if it is would recommend it to everyone doing the Chi Kung Fundamentals 1.I would say that most of the weight is on K-1 when you do Deep Earth Pulsing properly. The heel alternately lifts and rests on the ground, but that’s not where the weight is. You want the weight primarily on K-1 so that the water qi is pumped up mostly into the kidney point. In other words, it sounds fine to me. Deep Earth Pulsing does have a little bit of tricky body mechanics and often needs live adjustment for optimal benefit . . . so if your body movement changed slightly as you were doing the practice to get more benefit, that doesn’t surprise me. I see no harm in a healing sound add-on, if you find benefit from it. Generally though, it is better to have your focus on the center of the earth to amplify the grounding effect; if you are doing the healing sounds, you are taking your attention off of the center of the earth, and you are sabotaging the grounding (although perhaps amplifying the kidney detox).
Deep Earth Pulsing is safe for anyone. No prerequisites.
