I just read over a bunch of the recent forum materials…
To Ride Forever: This post,
http://forum.healingdao.com/philosophy/message/26169%5Cis thoughtful and goes directly to the point of serious philosophical issues.
To Michael Winn: You wrote back and called him an “ignorant beginner”. Why would you do this? If you look at the posts directly before and after this, the guy was honest about disasters happening, asked serious questions, etc..
He has a real point.
Down to the nitty gritty:
1) All of this IS a big deal because these “formulas” are dealing with an actual induction of processes to assist in traversing the “bardo”… In fact they are dealing with *biological* traversal of the “bardo”…
2) This american healing dao branch has proven time and time again to, insanely enough, be populated and “group-ied” by some of the most shallow people of all time… Including Michael himself who I would place at about a 3 of 10 on a depth meter. They are like the worst of new age pseudo flakes and fruitcake basket cases.
Ride, you seem to be more at a 5+… You also didn’t study other tribes’ yogas at a depth level of 2 like Michael did for 50 years.
Of course there is context: We are living in a world where Christians and Muslims alike can denounce spherical earth and astrophysical time scales because of how deceptive “Satan” is… while watching a NASA video.
That’s just plain mentally ill. What kind of interaction could you possibly have with that person? That’s not a person, it’s an idiotic ape.
Somehow, Michael Winn has cultivated one oxymoron right after another.
Imaginary sphere projections to be “oh so embodied”…
Artificial induction of nullifying emotional reactions to “become one’s true self”…
And a Tao of “golden smiles” forever…
As said before, who would possibly sit and smile to a murdered meat carcass on a plate to get in touch with its “essence”?
You are completely right about this Ride,
“If you feel bad, in some systems (like Christianity) you are meant to feel it fully. The assumption is that life is not trying to hurt you, but that pain is a certain kind of message or food that will help us grow if we meet it fully.”
Michael Winn, you ARE NOT a psychologist, a sociologist, or a medical doctor. Stop trying to be.
I sure don’t see real Taoists sages trying to act like they are?
As I said before, chi kung is 99.99% NOT going to be a fraction of the effectiveness of neosporin on a cut and simultaneously could probably save 50%+ of all stress related strokes. It works, it works quickly, but it has limits
Michael, no one lived to be 1000 years old. It is a translational error in letter to number conversion.
Ride, the presentation of all of these artificial colors to get in ouch with nature versus tried and true “yoga” is, again, completely oxymoronic…
And that is basically because of how Michael is…
These chi kung practices are about cauldron energy and chi oscillation and the way they interface with nature…The idea of mechanically flipping this and that qi orb is COMPLETELY UN-natural to just about anyone…
When you mix that with “Mike-ianity”, which is NOT nei dan gong OR the original formulas, it basically is again a total oxymoron…
The formulas work. Michael Winn makes a mountain out of a molehill while missing the mountain in the total stress out of “relaxing” through self sedation.
He does know the real material, he just went bonkers with it and turned it into his “I’m better than everyone else since I am so TAO” universe.
He is NOT a Taoist. He is NOT a doctor. This is NOT the original tradition. He has however put a life of work into it and done some great things.
He needs to get the hint. He needs to stop acting like he is. He’s basically a new ager turning it into pseudo-TAO.
February 15, 2016 at 8:48 am #45993qtfaceParticipantI’ll take Michael’s medicine over yours any day.
February 15, 2016 at 8:56 am #45995qtfaceParticipant…and like all medicine it only works if you take it.
February 16, 2016 at 12:29 pm #45997ViktorParticipantWow ribosome777, where to start?
First of all I can’t believe the suffering you are causing to yourself by putting your energy into all these negative thoughts. Second: you want to convince people into your beliefs?! Beats me why are you doing this to yourself.
What are you trying to do by sharing all your beliefs about Michael and the rest of us “groupies” which we wouldn’t call ourselves like that. Are you saving us from our own judgement of what is right and wrong and what is good or bad for us? That is extremely egoistic man. Try respecting peoples own judgement, you will feel much better and you will get the same in return.
If you are so much into Buddhism try working on your suffering and don’t hide behind intellect. It seems to me that you use it only to justify your own suffering. Focus on positive thoughts, constructive practices, be happy man. I don’t know you but this post just saddens me. From my point of view you are at the dinning table full of food and you are just whining about food at some other tables, some “original” food and what not.
I am very grateful for Michaels and Healing Dao in general, it has brought so much to me that other things (including Buddhism and Yoga) couldn’t. And I couldn’t care less whether is “original” or not if it works. And I believe it has a lot to do with the idea of the ancient daoists. But its just a belief, and that is not guiding me. Practice is guiding me. Practice that brings me health, joy, harmony, balance etc… And it is telling me to go deeper into this.
I wish you to find higher vibrations. But I will ignore any messages of this type from you in the future.February 17, 2016 at 7:53 am #45999StevenModeratorRibosome777 has been on this forum for years.
It drives him crazy that people listen to Michael, but won’t listen to his angry rants or his LSD-induced “brilliant” discoveries. It’s no accident that he is defending Rideforever. Both are attention-seekers looking for an audience, and both are totally ungrounded mental-head-cases. At least Rideforever had the intelligence to leave when he was called out on his B.S. But ribosome777 can’t stay away, as he needs to play out his daddy issues with Michael . . . and he can’t get over his desperate need for people to listen to him. It’s sad really. He should try to cultivate healthy relationships with people, rather than throw temper tantrums because he is lonely.February 17, 2016 at 7:23 pm #46001Michael WinnKeymasterI have a much higher level of respect for Rideforever than for Ribosome.
Rideforever had a point of view, he presented it in an articulate and very intelligent way, he was critical but never resorted to personality attacks.
I agree with a lot of Rideforever’s separate points, just not with his premature conclusions about qigong as a supportive path to health that can improve quickly one’s meditational- alchemical skill.
In a way, Rideforever is correct in pointing out (in his own language) that most qigong is focused on improving POST_NATAL Qi flow, i.e. it is not going to take you immediately into higher cosmic consciousness.
My point is that even waidangong still lays a good foundation for physical health while you are preparing to go deeper with neidangong. Just getting energetically more self-aware and grounded is HUGE.
My dispute with Rideforever was over his conclusions, not about his personality.
Ribosome is fixated on my personality, which is irrelevant to anyone’s personal cultivation practice. As Steven speculates, he appears to have authority or Daddy issues. I hope the mirroring he is receivingon this forum helps him to dissolve or transcend those patterns. I don’t take his self-projections personally.
Just as I don’t accept any title or want anyone hanging onto my “iron skirt”, I decline to join Ribosome’s attempt to idolize me by establishing a cult around me that he calls “Mike-ianity”.
Very flattering and amusing, coming from a Ribo-bone head. 🙂
February 17, 2016 at 8:05 pm #46003ribosome777Participantwhen they ask “articulate” questions
no more reply is needed… I’m sure you’re glad he left, possibly 5 minutes ago.
Putting yourself up by putting people down
while claiming you’re “neutral”
speaks for itself. It’s called ego compensation.
It must have come from years of being so rejected and so many failures- and a total lack of credentials. The reason I continue to write things here is because there was an original tradition that is worth something…
Maybe you should explain to “Rideforever” all your falling outs, disasters,
lost causes, enemies, etc..and how your cover is always to begin insulting people as M.O. when they question the insanity,
again to raise yourself up.The only issue years ago was your constant condemnation of “everyone else’s” hierarchies (they must have condemned ignorant beginners : ) too much for you)
to which I replied that society is an extrapolated family structure..
that when it boils down there is always hierarchy because of family structures..
I am not going to discuss the truth of that one. It would be nice if you stopped destroying the real teachings : )

Sorry for my broken English.

I think rideforever was casting his own judgments about you, in addition to the many judgments about the Healing Tao practices. I find ribosome somewhat more forgivable, because at least he has some experience with alchemy, rather than rideforever who was replying with a lot of narcissistic comments spoken from ignorance and little direct experience. The latter I find much more repugnant, as I tend to respect bomb-throwers that have more direct experience. But that’s just me.February 17, 2016 at 8:51 pm #46013StevenModeratorMaybe you can identify your source for “the original tradition”.
Maybe you can detail the actual practices and how they differ.Like Michael or dislike Michael, he’s teaching a set of usable practices.
You don’t have to like him to find value in the practices.Maybe you can discuss how the alchemy from your source differs, and how it provides a measurable benefit. Simply saying that you don’t like the person (Michael) who is interpreting the practices doesn’t provide a valuable argument.
I know Michael very well, and he personally doesn’t care if others consider him an enemy or dislike him, provided he is standing by what he believes in. It’s one of the things I respect most about him; he doesn’t let others define his sense of self.

February 21, 2016 at 12:24 pm #46019c_howdyParticipantA leather daddy is another word for a dominator
“suck my dick bitch”
“yes leather daddy”
-http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=leather+daddyActually I don’t have impression that in this case this is necessarily sexual.
But it’s possible also that Ribosome somehow unconsciously is looking for full-blown and of course rich man with whom he could take the feminine role.
