Listening to the Tao Te Ching last night I was very taken by the beautiful ideas of staying close to life, to the higher and lower, the inside and outside, of rounding off your edges. Close to your breath, close to your vital force, close to existence itself. It is wonderful and beautiful.
Is there anything missing ?
Yes I believe there is. Humans in general live as false selves, fake people or prototype people or dark people … and when you maintain contact with them you have to have the recognition and intelligence to recognize that that is what they are. They are not People they are “people”.
The recognition has to be clear, otherwise you will get close to an illusion.
Happy and friendly people on investigation can be like an empty walnut, you crack it open and there is nothing there. It’s a strange world.
Being close to the valleys of life is something for the Tan Tien;
recognition intelligence and clarity have to do with the head.
