As I cycle through practices, the concept of bliss rears its ugly head. I can achieve a certain clear mindedness, sense of quiet and peace. An acceptance for whats going on around me and a deep appreiciation for what I have the beauty of nature, even human nature.

But no bliss. Maybe I need to be more heart centered, need to evolve into a deeper practice, or get more into the moment.

Or is bliss just not in the cards for me? I must be content w/ peaceful contentedness which isn’t half bad really.

Do you think bliss is a worthy goal, an overheating distraction or sign post along the Way?

    Peace

    Michael

    Michael,

I didn’t get bliss until I started the Kan and Li’s. I remember when taking Fusion with Marie Favorito, and she said in a stoned way how blissful a meditation we had just finished was for her. Huh, not for me!

Bliss is in the cards, you will experience it, and you will…be blissful.

Now, what is it like? For me, it is opening to a whole new dimension, my body becomes vast and open and pulses creation. I expect there are various types and flavours of bliss, but I don’t have enough conscious experience of them to classify them. When I come out of bliss, it is like..huh? wha…, where…, oh…, hmmm…, wow….

But, bliss as a goal? I dunno. It is wonderful. Like a great orgasm, but not so physically intense, and with no physical let down. But, just like sex becomes a bit of a waste if the goal is just the big O, then…actually, I don’t know if bliss would happen if you are consciously aiming for it.

Have you moved on to Fusion yet? If not, you really should. You have more than enough experience with the Fundamentals. I really think that you need the Kan and Li experience; it should transform alot of the “skepticisim” (for lack of a better word) that you sometimes present.

    hey

what is the point of anything without bliss or joy?

maybe there is something that you are not looking at, something holding you back that needs attention for you to find bliss.

i think i have trouble with joy in a similar fasion. it happens occasionally but not often enough and usually revolves around being able to be in the forest. after a long trip i’ve been back to that original expression of this life, the first breath, taken in frozen terror, raging anger and immense grief. working thru what all that means, setting it free ive come much closer to living in joy. it’s still hard but it does come.

the first time i was totally blissed out was when i learned lesser kan & li. that first meditation, speachless for hours & now no doubt has helped me open pathways thru that frozen expression, getting on my way finally.

i’d suggest that we could live in eternity in bliss if we let ourselfs. tune into that and see how it fits….

    Michael,

I agree with Chris in that you need to move on through fusion and onto K&L. You are hesitant and take your time, that is fine. If you want the “answers” go find them yourself. The HT can help you “get there”. I have found that courage is SO important on this path. You obviously have this in your “outer life” otherwise you would not be as successful as you have been 🙂 perhaps you might apply this to your inner journey.

The way I would answer your question is this… There are many characteristics of a Tao that is ever changing and unknowable in totality. One of these is Bliss. There are varying degrees of experience. The ocean is without limit. As Chia says, take one step at a time towards enlightenment, focus on doing what you can today and leave the rest for when it unfolds…

Best to you on your path,

    Matt

I have had the M/ Winns Fusion I’s tape for a while. Listened to them once or twice, I like them and feel I’ve gotten something out of them. They’ve been gathering dust for a year or so. I’ll brush them off and give them an ear. I’d like to go to his Fusion course this year but I don’t think I’ll be able to.

I also like Minke’s Fusion I guided meditations which I listen to weekly.

Like you said, its probably a matter of more walking the walk. But then the Tao is merely a path, but without some sustained effort we tend to zig zag, meander and waste time.

    Peace

    Michael
