Hi Pema,
I’m going to digress in advance first before getting to the point of the ‘alternate mahamudra path’. : )
Firstly, I’ve had similar thoughts and experiences re the plastic nature of energetic systems. Another person who thinks similarly, a very experienced practicioner, is William Mistele, a student of many systems and teachers who…[Read more]

Hi Pema
Namkhai Norbu, the dzogchen teacher, is very sympathetic to daoist practices. I know this simply because of a quote of his on the back of a book by B.K. Frantzis. He is also very westernized, though I think he mainly speaks Italian (he’s based in Italy) as far as western languages are concerned, but I’m not sure about that, not that…[Read more]

Hi there,
“I sometimes think about the similarities between the essence of the inner smile, dzogchen, and mahamudra. For me it maybe the same, I will have to see as the practice deepens.”
Michael Winn has sort of said as much–he provides a very interesting free ebook book on the Inner Smile in case you didn’t know with subscription to his…[Read more]

I recommend a book called ‘Primordial Experience’, by Manjusrimitra–translators/commentators, Namkhai Norbu, Kennard Lipman.
Time and timelessness happen at the same time.
We don’t have to make this happen; it already is the case; it’s a matter of noticing, like seeing into an optical illusion. Generally in dzogchen they emphasize getting…[Read more] -

Simon V. replied to the topic Speeding up of Karma in the forum General 19 years, 1 month ago
I have noticed what might be construed as ‘speeding up karma’ in myself as a result of meditation; a kind of acceleration of the process of ‘the coming to a resolution of things’, without necessarily acting anything out. Traditionally this has been called ‘the ripening of karmic seeds I believe’.
What are you experiencing?Simon

Yes, too bad, but good thing you’re just a few doors down the cyber street.
I had noticed that a comment of yours I replied to disappeared–or that trail of messages or whatever it’s called. Clearly I missed something in my intermittent visiting of the forum…

No skin of my back. As I said, I appreciate your piss and vinegar. But a person just finding their legs on the forum, dipping their toe in the water hesitantly, could get deflated and decide not to try again, when criticised too quickly, is all I was thinking. But please keep your polemic sharp! : )

Spyrelx,
Though I appreciate your piss and vinegar and often it is exactly what is needed, I do think you can be too harsh sometimes.
