Well I think when you know it’s the law to begin with you plan with it from the beginning, so you wouldn’t grow faster than your ability to fulfill that law structure. For us to do it here, to be fair and practical, it would have to be brought in very slowly, with lots of government help, since entrepreneurs have gotten used to it the way it is.…[Read more]

I was on the ten year black belt plan too, but I think that had more to do with my stubborn teachers in my school. They refused to cough up the higher belts to anyone without a persistent, genuine effort, a commitment. I saw lots of people get up to blue and black belts and then drift away.
I agree that it’s a matter of priorities, which I…[Read more]

In my opinion the view Michael states here is in agreement with Tibetan tantric buddhism.
‘Finding the nature of mind’ and being able to find it again and again–what is really meant by ‘taking refuge’–is the first step in a journey that of necessity cannot end. The nature of mind is the true refuge–in western alchemy, the ‘lumen naturale’ or…[Read more]

Just noticed this.
Phowa is very often misunderstood as just being a kind of mechanical yoga technique; if it is not practiced within the context of a thorough understanding of the buddhist philosophical view, and/or if it is not received from a truly competent teacher, then it will indeed appear to be an extreme ‘escape hatch’ kind of…[Read more]

I mostly agree with this, unless of course, what the other wants is starting to really part from what you want; but if you start from a spirit of wanting to please the other, to bring them happiness, pleasure, feelings of self worth and relaxation, to really enter into communication with them, then that can generate something really beautiful; in…[Read more]

The force… Well, in daoist, or in general Asian, methods, it is about cultivating energy in the sense of a healthy vitalizing force that can be directed however one desires once one has developed the ability to generate it to a sufficient degree at will–it can be used then for healing, defense, vanity, magic, sexual prowess, etc. There is more…[Read more]

I’d like to second what others have said about relating to the earth, lowering the energy, and the microcosmic orbit is real magic for modulating your energy in a healthy way.
A note on alchemy.
In daoist alchemy (as in western alchemy) the idea is not to dissolve the identity into some vast mind, or to skyrocket out of your body into…[Read more] -
