Peter,
Quite the meditation!
In Michael’s diagram of the kan and li process, he does have some purple.
He has a red and blue vesica piscis, and where they intersect is a purple eye. Inside the eye is a simple tai chi symbol, in the center of which is a golden ball.
The purple, if memory serves correctly, is the balance of fire and…[Read more]

Michael,
Thanks, those perspectives help. The choice of being imperfect is interesting. Actually, I wonder if personalities can be perfected in Later Heaven? We can become individually balanced in Later Heaven, but perfected for all other beings simultaneously is probably not possible.
If you could talk about Ming and Xing – fate and destiny…[Read more]

Peace,
Oh man, I feel for you. My mother died of colo-rectal cancer and my father from pancreatic cancer. It is a sad thing. And, it is great that you are trying to be of help.
I remember that the pain got increasingly very bad for my mother, and she took increasing amounts of some heavy pain reliever.
Breathing techniques to relieve…[Read more]

Michael,
A little niggling, and two deeper questions.
1. The niggling.
You say that you are “…not sure why relating one’s first hand experience is gossip.” Well, one of many definitions of gossip is “Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature.”(dictionary.com). You were not engaging in rumor, but it seemed to me to be…[Read more] -

I’m of two minds about this.
First, we all gossip. After a party or meeting or movie we usually comment about the different people we met and wonder why they have to be so nice/mean/fake, and why can’t they…be more like us! We all judge all of the time, and that adds alot of interest to the world. Gossip like this holds communities together,…[Read more]

Keith,
Okay, I’ve finally ordered this book (seeing as how I also ordered one by Master Nan, to see what Plato and Max were on about).
In case anyone else is interested, there are cheaper copies than the $50 at amazon!
From bookfinder.com I got a $14 new copy, and there are other copies for $19.
Knowing me and books, I’ll probably…[Read more]

If your mind wanders only 6 to 8 times in a 30 minute time period…wow! I am always parts of me are being attracted to this or that in the outer world. And that is fine – I don’t want to lose those parts, or cut them off because I certainly need them. And, it isn’t just the brain that gets those attractions, sometimes the wandering part is in the…[Read more]

There are many ways to stilling the mind. Here are four suggestions that work for me.
1. Chi Kung! If you’re whole body is engaged, then the mind stills. Good chi kung is fluid, like biking, skiing or surfing, you follow the momentum, the wave of energy. Don’t push it with the mind; follow it with the body. Slowly, different parts of the body…[Read more]

Mike,
Woooo…just reading your first paragraph (“Back to seemingness…”) got my jing pulsing all swimmy. Had to close my eyes and meditate.
Thanks for your earlier post about pearl sizes. I’ve been doing something similar, incorporating my whole body feeling, but not visualizing pearls or spheres as that makes it too mental for…[Read more]

Keith – good to see you not gone!
In regards to yin within yang — yang within yin. My sense it is:
In lesser kan and li, a water pearl moves up from the water collection point, and a fire pearl moves down from the fire collection point. The location of the fire pearl is where the water collection point is located. This thus puts some fire…[Read more]
