I am not sure I understand you correct but what I do understand is that I can not ‘make’ them feel loved or wanted. I only can make them aware, let them ‘feel’ the pain and be there and being patient.

But as well, you can be direct yet heartfull at the same time which makes your words a thousandtime more worthy.

Don’t be too hard on others Plato, look into your own heart before judging the problems of others, they have their struggles too and use ‘food’ to compensate that. Eating disorder is a very complex problem and is very much the same as any other addiction. It is mainly a craving for connection and deep healing.
