Hi, I’ve been reading a document on Merkaba meditation by Drunvalo Melchizedek. I’m wondering, what do other people think about this type of meditation and philosophy? Can one practise it on a daily basis along with Taoist methods? Are there any good sources or sites that you could recomend?
Thanks, TomMarch 28, 2006 at 3:54 pm #11995Alexander AlexisParticipantHi Tom-
I’ve had a lot of experience in the past with Drunvalo’s techinque and his material in general. I learned the Merkaba meditation from one of the Flower of Life (Drunvalo’s course) teachers who was a friend of mine and who edited Drunvalo’s first Flower of Life book. I practised the meditation daily for several years and found it very beneficial.
The time in which I practiced it overlapped my beginning years in doing Daoist Alchemy through Michael (Winn). I eventually left behind the Merkaba meditation in favor of daoist stuff which seemed to feel better and work better for me. I hesitate to say some of this for fear of dissuading you from practicing what you seem to be drawn to. I say, “Check it out.”
Michael once told me that the Merkaba meditation is predominately a fire technique, which I am prone to agree with despite the fact that you are supposedly focussing on a feminine tetrahedron as well as a masculine one.
One important thing that Drunvalo has always said about the technique is that the most important part of it is centering on unconditional love while you’re doing it which brings it pretty close to doing the inner smile at the same time.
You can check out Drunvalo’s stuff, which is pretty broad these days, on his website- Spirit Of Maat. Or look up Flower of Life and you should find a ton of websites. His books are quite beautiful and helpful in many ways but my instincts tell me that not all the material is true.

1. Star Tetrahedron is comprisd entirely of triangles. Triangle is considered fire in sacred geometry.
2. I know several practitioners who got quite spacey doing the meditation, i.e. out of body, which suggests lack of water/grounding.
3. I tried it myself, and found it imbalancing otwards the fire side, to which I am prone anyway. Thre are othr shapes you can spin which I find much more balanced. You can start with pearls. In Greatest Kan & Li I teach the atlantean spinning method using pyramids.
It might be balancing for a while for someone who has excess water or stuck earth. But remember that everything is a balancing process and your practice may need to change.

you can then basically instantly drawstring your spine into an inversive flowform and whirl it as tertahedrons..
however I cannot vouch that I get anywhere with this..
no trips off world or anything..
but once while doing I did feel somewhat more geometric and focused mentally, good for math or similar
