Hi!
I was wondering what’s the connection between the mco and the perception of art. Is there any particular point that controls our sensivity to literature etc?
thanks!
s.
i dunno which particular point might control sensitivity to literature, but my guess is that when circulating the MCO the 2 hemispheres of the brain synchronise.
when the brain hemispheres are in balance, sensitivity to literature is enhanced as well as sensitivity to music, nature, animals, etc etc
that’s just my feeling on it
I don’t think there’s a point that controls it but that it’s the flowing connection that is made between the left/right, above/below, and back/front. I think Mat is on the right track. The relationship between the heart and kidneys, and thus, the MCO, would seem to be central because it’s the balance of these that creates integration and that would produce (true) art which I think of as an alchemical act. The heart is the organ of truth, perception and intuition. It guides the whole process of life.
Besides, the word “art” is inside the word “heart.”
Nice question.

Now that makes sense, because I noticed the triple warmer sound, on me, has a deep impact on the matter.
Thanks!
Your welcome. Just sharing. It’s good fun chi.
Triple warmer is a “smoother” of the other meridian’s energies. I seem to remember Michael once saying that it is like a bridge between the external body and the core/central channel which is yuan/source/neutral chi. This makes sense to me from my practice.
The heart/kidney interplay has figured into my thinking and been presented to me from the outer world left and right lately and I am seeing it as the core of balancing the personality and thus truly cultivating myself while creating better health and a more fulfilling earth life.
I don’t know if you read my posts recently from Lonny Jarrett’s book Nourishing Destiny. I am finding it most helpful for putting together daoist theory-practice study which can look really abstract and confusing at times.
Thanks for the questions!
