One last addendum to the previous discussion.
As some of you may know (from a previous article), I have struggled many years
with smoking addiction. In fact, the starting of this bad habit was caused years ago, in part, by the extreme depression, fear, anxiety described in my personal story (Evolution of the Soul II).Even after my “awakening” and subsequent peace, I still couldn’t break the addiction. In part, I didn’t internally feel that breaking it was neither necessary nor important.
One month ago, as I began to practice qigong, I posted an article about it, and expressed a desire to end it–as I had been unable to for years.
On the night of the Winter Solstice, near midnight I lit a candle, and in the dark performed the “Deep Healing Qigong”. I did the long version (as detailed in the handout in Michael’s DVD–namely I did the bathing in each of the 5 directions with the 5 colors). Facing the north, I expressed intent, and asked the universe if it would help me eliminate the smoking habit.
I was still unable to quit; however, 10 days later, a miracle happened. I woke up on the morning of January 2 and I felt completely changed–reworked somehow. I can’t really describe it; I just felt different.
I have not smoked since, and have had zero desire to. Moreover, even though it has only been a little over 3 weeks, it feels like I smoked in another lifetime. In any “standard” attempt to quit in the past via willpower, I always had lingering desire, and would occasionally give in “during dreams”. Even this is different with this particular situation! I have no lingering desires, and any time it has come up in a dream, I have actually told my dreaming characters that “I’m not interested; I don’t do that anymore”.
In some sense it may seem like a “self-help addiction forum” would be a more appropriate place for this, but I am posting this here because I am positive that
this happened DUE TO THE WINTER SOLSTICE TAOIST QIGONG CEREMONY I performed. This does nothing more than in my mind confirm that Michael is correct in that the Winter Solstice contains a lot of power. His forum suggestion that we try a Winter Solstice Ceremony was a blessing in disguise.
It is not just the addiction thing either. I really, honestly feel different than I did before this “transformation”. I can’t really describe it–almost another mini-awakening in a way.
In fact, I still feel as if I’m changing for the better.
Although some might not feel this is the right approach, I have actually had to cut back on the doing qigong to twice a week temporarily, just because the transformation has been so strong and rapid that I feel the need to slow down and stabilize and get used to the positive changes that are taking place.
This has really been an exciting time for me!
I’m sorry for the “pollution” of all of these articles as of late. I’m usually pretty reserved. I’ve just been overflowing recently.
Best wishes,

This particular form at that particular time establishes communication on all levels of ‘life’ with the ‘anti-life’ in our core. Sanctifies intention rather than belief.
I look forward to see how you integrate and articulate your chi experiences with this view of reality gifted you. Barry
(Also even ocean breathing can be a wonderful integrative and simple chi kung to do anytime. Gets the body involved while the mind tries to take over)

thanks,

I think you will find going deeper into One Cloud’s Seven Formulas very rewarding. A way to fill in the gaps on a functional level between your peak vision and your everyday self.
I designed the Deep Healing Qigong to be a ceremonial form of the Kan & Li practices.
so it is your taste of inner alchemy, and how it can speed up changes in unfolding you are are.btw, my wife Joyce and I were doing this ceremony extensively over the solstice holidays and afterwards,
we find it very very powerful. We do it facing each other, and spiral off in different directions and come back facing each other in the center direction. The male-female polarity adds extra power to the ceremony. We also add in elements from the higher alchemy formulas that attune to the inner nature of the Sun/stars above and the Earth below during the 3 part mandala movement, which is essentially a ritual form of the macro-cosmic orbit.
As far as the warm glowing light tht embraced your individual soul, I suspect/speculate that this was a manifestation of your “oversoul” (western terminology) or “great spirit” (da shen) in chinese. This is the focus of One Cloud’s 5th Formula, the star alchemy level.
These oversouls have separated from the Original Spirit for purposes of creation/individuation and manage the incarnational cycles of individual souls (patterns shaped by what we call astrology).
The ceremony gave you a concrete pathway to download your intention/Yi.
Blessings to Your Way,
Michael
