I’m not very good with abstraction like you guys are, so I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to properly answer your question.
What I say might be entirely useless.
Nonetheless, let me take a stab . . .
I wouldn’t say that’s quite right. A reunion isn’t really necessary in the true sense of the word, since we are already linked to this “light mass”. We are just inobservant to its presence normally.
The cyclical process with the final joining is a natural one, and will happen eventually–even if we make no attempt to speed up the process.
While this process (from Evolution of the Soul II) is what I’m sure about, there are several questions that I don’t currently have the answers to:
1. Once we merge in the final stage, what happens next?
It is unclear to me. It may be that “this phase” is done, and we progress to some higher level. However, it is possible that there is no more. It is possible that we have completed our purpose, are totally complete, and are effectively “done”.
I’ve not been given any information about this. I’m not sure if I can’t see past this because I just haven’t been given this information, or if there just isn’t anything–i.e. we’re done and there’s nothing more.
2. Is it possible/desirable to “elevate” your status as a “light pulse”?
That is, can we through meditative/alchemical techniques advance ourselves enough and rapidly enough that we can form our own little galaxy and disconnect ourselves from this preordained path? Would this be a good thing, and would it provide more to us in the “long run” as opposed to ultimately merging with the light mass?I don’t have any information here clearly, because this isn’t part of the plan for us. It’s a question I’d like to investigate at some point, because I’ve always been one to look at all of my options.
Here I feel I need to learn more about qigong, meditation, and alchemy to get a better picture for this. I don’t have the tools yet to be able to study this question effectively.
3. Does the light mass embody everything? Or it is just one piece to a much larger picture?
Similar to #2, I haven’t been given this information, and I don’t currently have the tools to try to obtain it. It’s just a fun question I like to think about.
Here is one question I know the answer to, however:
“What is our purpose?”
While the main GOAL of existence is EVOLUTION OF THE SOUL, it doesn’t address the question of “what is the purpose in it and why am I in this process?”
The answer is to that question is “Your question is meaningless.”
Now before a person responds with “that’s a very Zen-like thing to say, that is a convenient way of not answering the question”, let me qualify my statement.
Let’s say you take a child to an amusement park. You show the child all of the rides and entertainment. If the child were to say “what’s the purpose in having fun on these rides?”, then assuming you didn’t have the child committed, you would say “your question doesn’t make sense–having fun on the rides IS THE PURPOSE”.
Similarly, regarding “what is the purpose in the process?”, the question is
likewise meaningless. The purpose IS THE PROCESS.The next obvious question is “why?”
I don’t know the answer to this, but I have a personal THEORY as to what is going on.
This light mass, “oversoul”, whatever you want to call it, needs nothing. It is complete already and content. For purely recreational purposes, it breaks off pieces of itself and endows each piece with a radically different personality from itself. It then sends it out into the world (a human born for the first time).
Then like a thrown spinning boomerang it goes round and round in circles, but eventually comes back (the analogy being that each spin is one loop through the life-death cycle, and the coming back refers to the personality/soul purifying and eventually returning to that of the light mass).
The light mass gets enjoyment out of watching the boomerang travel, of seeing where it goes, where it spins–like watching a movie–except in this case the movie is of several lifetimes it gets to see and “watching” is an inadequate description as all the senses are involved. Furthermore, the light mass gets enjoyment out of seeing that the boomerang itself is enjoying its flight, just as a parent enjoys seeing a child having fun on a playground.
Actually that last comment has some content of its own, in reality we are its “children” struggling to grow up.
OOPS, I guess I kind of went on a little long there. Sorry!

This posting describes a type of spiritual ecstacy that is pinultimate? what else would go beyond it?
is this not nirvana/heaven/bhakti?
February 1, 2007 at 7:02 pm #20768Alexander AlexisParticipantWhile it’s up to Steven to comment from his side on his own words, my thought is that what is “beyond” will be an organic development of the state of oneness in which there are fewer, if any, questions (because “questioning” is basically mental) and a fuller experience of pure being merged with the freedom that comes with a consciousness that recognizes itself as a functional part of the Whole, the Dao. The words “total freedom” have sometimes been tossed around with regard to this. In this, as I penetrate it with my feeling awareness, is a condition of congruency with creativity. -ALexander
