Greetings
I’ve noticed an issue before that if one or both of my legs are locked and I exhale, a pearl of energy leaves my body through the top of my head. The origin of the pearl does not seem to be the head, more-so the whole body (incl. head).I then retrieve it, mostly by inhaling it into the body through the top of the head into either the Conception Vessel or Core Channel (Chong Mai), and circulate it in microcosmic orbit if seems necessary, or bring it to the Dan tien.
It is not hard, just a nuisance, and is not as fully enjoyable experience as I’d like it to be. So, it’s not really a full-blown out of body experience, but I wouldn’t want to leave the energy out of my head either.
Does anyone else have experience with this? What ways do you use to work with it when it happens or prevent it from happening? The obvious answer is to not lock your legs, but if you lock your legs for even 2 seconds and exhale in that time then it can happen. So I try to prevent myself from locking my legs, but I would like to here other preventative methods.
When I say locking the legs I mean at the knee joint.
Gracias

I have not had this happen to me before, but
if I had to answer based on my feeling:
I would say that focusing on locking vs. not
locking your knees . . . you are really addressing
the wrong issue. There is no reason why
locking your knees–in and by itself in the
absence of other issues–should it really
cause any problems energetically. The main
reason for not locking knees is for the
avoidance of tension and joint rigidity. My intuition here is that you are not grounded
and you need to do more work with your lower
dantian. You probably have too much rising energy toward
your head, and once you lock your knees, it
provides a clear and direct pathway upward.
The only reason I would say that it continues
up and out your crown (rather than getting stuck
in your head) is from all the energy work and
experience you already have, i.e. your energy
body is already open and you probably have no
trouble communicating and extending into your
nearby energy field. But energy shooting up
and out the top of your head, unintentionally,
suggests you are not grounded. Moreover,
your lower dantian is your center of gravity,
the area whereupon strengthening it, you develop
a container to hold your qi, as well as a
focal point for the orbit. With a strong
lower dantian, the orbit should naturally
pull in earth qi from below as well as heaven
qi from above like a whirlpool, directed toward
your center. In other words, with a strong
lower dantian, energy naturally attracts to that
location rather than some other location. So to sum up, my advice would be more grounding
practices to keep energy from spontaneously
rising up, as well as more work with your
lower dantian combined with orbit practice to
make your center the focal point for energy,
rather than an external point above your head.Hope that helps,

Thanks for your nice response.
I agree that more lower Dan Tien work is in order. Ocean breathing still amazes me. I suppose my practice has been more Yang recently, I think some more soft-style would be good. Also reintegration, i think that’s one of the valuable things about the macrocosmic orbit.
