Sometimes I have lustful feelings. Porn and so on. A desire for women that I’ll never meet anyway.
In a sense I’d like to transcend this, as I’m not sure how much good it does me. Also, what kind of a man do I want to be? I’d rather be one whose desire is focused on a woman with whom there is mutual interest. Seems like a more developed form of desire to me.
In the past year I’ve become gradually less and less interested in the former version of lust. I feel inspired to maybe give it the boot now, and finally be done with it. However in a sense I’m not sure it’s healthy to deny lustful intuitions that come up, as they are part of my nature.
Am interested in hearing how you guys deal with this. What has worked for you?

In The Eagle’s Gift, Florinda, one of don Juan’s party of warriors, teaches Castaneda about the process and purpose of recapitulation. She explained that recapitulation consisted of “recollecting one’s life down to the most insignificant detail.” She further explained that in the process of recapitulation one recounts all the feelings they invested in whatever memory they were reviewing.

That list of emotions in the Fusion of the Five Elements is too abstract and simple in my opinion, but it also works clearly for some other purpose.
Castaneda’s system or recapitulation gives oneself power and ability to overlook for example unwanted lustful feelings.

Typically if someone is frequently looking at porn and engaging in self-gratification, the person is not so much as honoring one’s own biology, but typically there are strong feelings of being unloved and strong desires to feel love. Thus, this is the real desire behind the lustful feelings, not the biology. Heal this emotional issue within, and the addictive frequent lustful desires die.
On the other hand, if it is not a habitual occurrence . . . if you simply have occasional random sexual desires–and you give in–as you say, this is simple acceptance of your own nature as a human being with biological impulses. It is unnatural to suppress that. In particular, there is a periodic health need for the prostate gland to clear out aging fluid and create a space for fresh. It is actually self-loving to honor your own body’s needs.
However, this latter bit is completely different than the frequent and regular scenario described in the prior paragraph. The former is an addictive pattern that dominates one’s free time to an excessive degree and provides very little return benefit. It is feeding a dysfunctional emotional pattern with junk food, rather than giving itself something truly nourishing. Time would be better spent doing inner work and forming real-world connections with others that nourish the heart.
Based on your post, intuitively, I think you already know the difference.

-https://www.google.fi/?gws_rd=ssl#q=healthilyThis also why I’m not a fan of using Fusion 1 for solving emotional problems, because by its nature, it creates an “us vs. them” scenario. Fusion 1 works well for symptom-relief, like an ibuprofen does for a headache, but I’m not entirely convinced that it does much for the underlying pattern (either mental or otherwise), as the goal of “getting rid of it” creates the seed for more of it.

Like Steven says those Fusion practices are not ideal for emotional problems in this respect.
But I think that also being able to generate antagonistic attitudes (not blind external outbursts) creatively towards self-important idiots or disgusting sinners is very important.
So recapitulation is good as introductory withdrawal (in the sense of pratyahara) as well as strengtening method of reasoning and memory power, also so called emotional intelligence. When this is developed far enough one’s mind works always in healthily active or receptive manner.

Ps. Sorry for the nudity if the picture comes through. That is simply supposed to be authentic picture of one of those Japamese Ama divers: no pornography; she’s there in her working costume.

-http://forum.healingdao.com/general/message/26587/-Had a live teacher instead. But then when I go back now and listen to those CDs it turns out there’s an enormous amount of detail that I wasn’t taught, including some exercises that were missed completely (like testicle breathing).

There was also some earlier problems with Kundalini syndrome, so that’s something to consider.
I suggest to start to recapitulate; it’s good way to start to prepare special mental diary.

Ps. I had few years ago girlfriend from an other European country. She took few UT/HT courses when she went back home. She reported to me that when they had that kind of mixed gender group of both young and old persons, it was very akward situation for some when they were adviced to massage they private parts (women should massage their breast & men should massage their testicles). She had been sitting during the first day beside some aggressive and muscular young body builder type male. He had been so uneasy and embarrassed with those things that he didn’t come anymore next day. This is also something to consider.

-EGON SPENGLERPerfection of these two (pratyahara & dharana) is a must before the practice of Kriya Yoga, because the emphasis is given to the experience of energy, chakras and the awakening of kundalini. Kundalini or the awakening of energy, simply represents one aspect of our total structure which is comprised of two forces: energy and consciousness. In Kriya Yoga and Kundalini Yoga practices we are only dealing with the aspect of energy.
-SWAMI NIRANJANANANDA SARASWATI Yoga Sadhana PanoramaIce-nine is a material appearing in Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Cat’s Cradle. Ice-nine is supposedly a polymorph of water (invented by Dr. Felix Hoenikker; instead of melting at 0 °C (32 °F), the result melts at 45.8 °C (114.4 °F). When ice-nine comes into contact with liquid water below 45.8 °C (thus effectively becoming supercooled), it acts as a seed crystal and causes the solidification of the entire body of water, which quickly crystallizes as more ice-nine. As people are mostly water, ice-nine kills nearly instantly when ingested or brought into contact with soft tissues exposed to the bloodstream, such as the eyes or tongue.
-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice-nineA common folk etymology derives the word from ari (enemy) and hanta from the root √han (cf: Hunter) ‘to strike, to kill’; hence the translation ‘foe-destroyer’.
My opinion is that self-gratification in any form can be very harmful, but especially if one starts too early for example those energy practices; one might start to attract something which one will repent later (if one doesn’t have enough self-control).
