Medical and Spiritual Qigong (Chi Kung)
I would say that it’s best to have yin and yang in relative balance. People with a more yin constitution will have less tolerance to cold temperatures.
I’m guessing the statement in the book was a simple typo.
I would say, without a doubt, that use of electronic devices has some effect on our evolution. However, what that effect may be is not as clear-cut. Some people use technology as a way to escape the real world, to find something external that makes them feel stimulated. Others use technology to connect with the rest of the world and to broaden their minds. I would guess that the average westerner does both of these things to some extent. Without a doubt, playing video games for twelve hours straight is going to waste some serious energy and create tons of stagnation. Connecting with actual people through meetup sites and social media (used in moderation) probably doesn’t.
On a side note, if I ever need cheering up, I sometimes watch the old video of a chimpanzee washing a cat on youtube (see below). This has never left me feeling drained.
Thank you for the help. I’ve only learned a few of the movements of the traditional 64 hexagram boxing form, but Dog Squatting on Lotus (Earth fist over Water palm, right?) seems to me to be the only technique that is effective against both snake creeps down AND Shaolin poison fist technique.
Thanks
