I remember reading an email signature that went: ‘The road to truth is long and lined the entire way with annoying bastards’. It’s lamentable that spirituality can attract some terrible people and there’s some outrageous abuses of trust. There’s predators and tricksters in all walks of life and religion and spirituality attact their fair share.…[Read more]

You’re welcome. These quotes come from the Eastern Orthodox Hesychastic tradition which employs body prayers and repetition of divine phrases in the chakras. It’s a venerable tradition dating back to the seventh century I believe. I’m not involed in this though I have engaged in a meditation called ‘Practicing the Presence of God’

I guess you could tie you mind into knots trying to work this out. I dont know much about chakras or trigrams but aren’t the eight trigrams associated with the eight extraordinary vessels? Anyway here’s some dubious and uniformed suggestions cooked up after flipping through an account of the eight forces in Cosmic Healing II:
1) The four…[Read more]

“You can kill an immortal if you understand from where their immortality arises. :)”
Crikey – that sounds awful. 🙁 I hope there’s some class of immortals whose title is not a misnomer. I suppose Buddhas can’t be killed because they’re realised the ‘unending deathless nature of mind’, though presumably their wisdom emanations can – e.g. the…[Read more]

Michael,
Emptiness is such a confusing term. I’ve seen it described as ‘lack of inherent existence’ which says that even though things do exist they only exist in so far as they are the products of the causes and conditions which bring them into being. In this respect then Emptiness can also be described as limitless potential and this is where…[Read more]
