Don’t know if you guys maintain your own server or have another company host it. Maybe you already have dedicated data backup in which case it would be much easier.
Anyway that software I suggested costs 500 bucks.
However I just fired up my trusty file sharing program
and if you’re interested I think I can get it for significantly less (wink wink).

Shit! as if that day could get any worse for us anti war people. lol
I dont know to what extent your willing to go to recover data.
I’m sure there reaches a point at which its more than its worth.
This ontrack is the best in the business.
Earlier this year a I had a hard drive die (started making scratching grinding sound) on me and this company gave me a quote on it. They were confident they could recover it but it would cost over a thousand dollars. But thats for severe physical damage.
Simple deletion is much easier.
Even if a virus reformatted your harddrive or some hacker got in and started deleting things its probably not beyond recovery.
I wouldnt put it past one of the creeps who makes trouble from time (to time (who seemed very hackerlike to me) to have hacked your server just to cause malace.
what happens when something on a hard drive is deleted is that it just deletes the reference to it on the disk the data is usually still there in some form unless you do a complete thourough wipe of your drive.
For a few hundered dollars they also seem to sell a professional suite of recovery tools. Software that allows you to reclaim data on a hard drive that has only been deleted but is still there.
There are two kinds of data loss problems small problems (accidental deletion) and big problems physical damage of drives.
This sounds more like the first possibility.
Hell if thats what it takes we could all take up a collection.
Everbody chip in and send some cash to James and Michael with paypal.
Too bad, something didn’t seem right. Data on a hard drive is often recoverable even if it seems to be erased if you get the right people to look at it. http://www.ontrack.com
I know there’s years of wonderfull stuff on there.
