The most common scientific view is that consciousness is the result of the neuron synapses in the brain firing. This is based on a mechanical world view that “the physical is the only plane of existence”, and excludes the idea that we are a physical printout of out larger energetic selves that extend in ever-deepening layers to a collective source.
