Heaven and Earth is perfect if we make it that way. “Following the way of heaven and earth” might be interpreted like “following the desire (or will) of heaven and earth to be in harmony and balance”.

Ba,
I have been readng your post, and would like to answer it until michael gets around to it, but again, your language is very unclear, and you take things out of context:
>>”Wu Ji created Heaven and Earth, under your assumption, it created the potential for this polarity, and of course not to polarize to the degree to cause the “human…[Read more]

Your interpretation of this quote is true in a larger sense, but does not acknowledge the existence of polarity or suffering that needs resolution now. This might happen in the case where the One single energy that is flowing about might encounter a blockage to impede its free flow.
Do you believe in the existence of suffering?
We could all…[Read more]

My main interest is in alchemy, and after having taken some fundamentals courses with teachers trained by Chia, and read some of his books, I have seen that michael’s methods and focus are significantly different; therefore, when I reference it, it was to say Michael’s interpretation of One Cloud’s methods as taught by Mantak Chia. But this…[Read more]

(Cultivation, i.e. winn’s daoist alchemy) >>”But it can be done without the complex intellectual model, obviously if we have immortals, they did it and did not have the complex intellectual terminology.”
I have heard this argument before, but to someone who practices One cloud/Winn’s alchemical methods it makes no sense because the methods…[Read more]

“…lost opportunity for “soul completion”. This is the most ambigious of tao theory and to me,”
This is a discussion board after all. It seems like there are a number of missionary buddhists on the board as well. I think we as Daoists are trying to clarify and refine the cosmology, so the point is really to answer and discuss the questions…[Read more]

I think that prenatal Jing and Qi of the pure virtue qualities refers to the five phase aspects, and is different from Yuan Qi and Jing which can only be neutral and not polarized into the five phases. Although the pure, prenatal virtue qualities have harmonized the yin and yang aspects of their conditioned manifestation, and are definitely…[Read more]

I thought from a buddhist point of view that being in the physical realm caused the mind to have attachments to impermanent objects, and attachments caused reincarnation; so if one reincarnates in the physical realm without mind attachments, then there is not suffering from a buddhist point of view?
But is it possible to reincarnate or, to…[Read more]

If “innate jing” and “innate qi” means prenatal jing and qi, do you mean they are working in harmony with the postnatal shen at birth?

I have only studied martial arts with Liang Shou-Yu, and have not taken his qigong classes. He is primarily a buddhist, and his main training and lineage come from Emei Shan, although he has studied with both Buddhists and Daoists, as there are teachers of Nei Dan from both traditions in China. Nei dan is in origin a daoist tradition.
