“There’s also a lot of people who remain at a state of athletic readiness due to emotional problems. They lead quiet lives, but they spend hours and hours doing “ultimate strength training”-this or “unbreakable soldier regiman”-that, trying to turn themselves into Rambos when their lives don’t require it. This is because of fear and…[Read more]

A lot of loosing weight (and being healthy) is eating the right COMBINATION of wholesome foods, rather than worrying about caloric intake.

my point is that most fat people ARE NOT gaining weight. They are overweight by say 50 pounds and MAINTAINING that weight. It’s not like this week they’re overweight by 50 and next week by 60 and then by 70, etc.
So if the guy is drinking a gallon of soda he’s obviously burning enough of it off to maintain his weight, otherwise he’d keep…[Read more]

If you’re being honest in your other post about your usual food intake, I eat at least 3 times as much food as you on a regular basis. At least.
I weigh 175 and I haven’t fluctuated more than a few pounds in 15 years. I’m not eating excess food and neither are you. The truth is, it doesn’t take much to maintain our respective weights and…[Read more]

Rainbowbear,
Personally, I think a good portion of plato’s advice is insane. But since you’re appear committed to trying it, I’d love it if you let the board know of your progress. It’s not often we get a living, breathing test case for Plato’s from the hip rantings.
Do let us know how you progress.

Most fat people may have gotten fat because of excess food (or, more accurately, a change in their level of exercise). But they don’t STAY fat because they’re eating excess food.
The same reason Plato doesn’t gain or loose weight like a yo yo is the same reason fat people don’t either. They are at a certain weight and they are maintaining…[Read more]

jsrit,
Pick up Daniel Reid’s book on Health, Sex and Longevity. There is a chapter in there on food combining.
Here are the basics
-Only eat fruit on an empty stomach (e.g., in the a.m.)
-Don’t mix starches (rice, pasta, bread, potatoes) with concentrated proteins (milk, meat, fish, tofu, eggs, etc.) in the same meal
-Eat…[Read more] -

Hey dragonbones,
I’d wait for Michael Winn to respond. I think he’ll have some good stuff to say.
Here’s my thoughts:
First off, grounding and the microcosmic orbit are extremely important. You don’t need great esoteric training in this.
Grounding is all about feeling the earth. Just feel it with the soles of your feet. Put…[Read more]

Michael will have to answer for himself but here’s my two cents’ worth.
Basically, I think you’re overthinking this.
I used to do some acting. In acting you memorize your lines and then go up on stage and recite them. You know where you’re going to move, when to cross the room, etc. You also understand the emotional content of the…[Read more]

Good question. Im not sure there are any verifiable answers. All this stuff were engaged in is more art than science, more feeling than facts. This doesnt mean its not real, just that its not particularly measurable by any that would be beyond reproach.
Is the practice working for you?
Yes then youre doing it right and using…[Read more] -

Thanks Max, that’s an elegant solution to the problem.
