>>>Steven,
>>>I love your mathematician’s take on the

In my view, it is the only proper way to analyze it. Faith-based belief, by its nature, is devotion to something that is an unprovable idea during human life. Until one dies, any discussion of what occurs after death is mere speculation.…[Read more]

Steven replied to the topic There is a real issue: Is someone already "saved"? The "Way of Jesus" in the forum General 8 years, 9 months ago
The faith-based story that Christians believe is that Jesus was God-incarnate, and he died on the cross as a way to absorb all sins from all people who believed with full faith that he is the human incarnation of God. Thus, to a Christian, how they live their life is irrelevant, and need not be the least bit similar to how Jesus lived his life.…[Read more]

Hi pkyoungson,
It depends on a number of factors:
1. How effective is the qigong movement as compared to others that exist?
2a. How much time did you spend on the qigong movement?
2b. Did you spend enough time? Did you spend too much time and overdo it . . . causing more strain?
3. How many days in a row have you done the…[Read more] -

Hi elephant,
I don’t use the I-Ching much myself, so I’m not really an expert on it. So I defer you to others who use it more for better advice. I know Michael recommends the Karcher Total I-Ching, which sounds like the one you are using. He uses it extensively, so he can probably provide more practical advice here.
But just a few words…[Read more]

I think there is a little bit of confusion with respect to the handout.
On the second page of the handout, he begins describing the yin practice (listed as item #4), which is covered in the course. On the *back* of the last page (listed as item #7), he describes the yang practice, which is the spinning bagua practice, i.e. a variant of the…[Read more] -

I couldn’t agree more with you.
As a sidebar, I find it interesting that he himself observes that people end up disliking him, yet at the same time fails to see that HE is the common denominator to this phenomenon. He completely fails to take any responsibility or notice that people don’t resonate with his high level of arrogance and extreme…[Read more]

Hi Viktor,
There are people who come to the summer retreats (See Summer retreats) from foreign countries, so that works as an option for people that otherwise can’t get live training at workshops or via privates. But let’s assume that you are still saving money for that option. So let’s talk about what you can do in the interim.
1.…[Read more]

Steven replied to the topic The way of practice in the forum Practice 8 years, 10 months ago
Hi Jox,
I usually practice for about 15 minutes long per session, and each session occurs about once an hour. In this way, I usually practice continuously throughout the day, without a particular dedicated practice time. On a free day, I might have a longer dedicated practice time, but on most days, I just take 15 minutes break, repeatedly…[Read more]

Michael and I are totally on the same page.
To bring up one extra point worth mentioning:
Ancestral influences are NOT in the past.
Ancestors influence us via our DNA pattern; their unresolved issues got passed on to us and imprinted onto us into our DNA pattern. So they are not in the past. They are right here, right now. They are…[Read more] -

Steven replied to the topic what parts of UHT are actually daoist practices?? in the forum General 8 years, 10 months ago
c_howdy’s answer is a good one.
Daoism is broad, and encompasses the whole Dao canon (Daozang, as c_howdy mentioned) as well as the knowledge acquired somewhat separately by the Daoist hermits (who mostly did not write down their findings, merely passing along an oral tradition, over a thousand years or more).
As c_howdy said, in the end,…[Read more]

. . . is difficult to learn without live instruction. Just do the best you can, making sure to keep focus into the center of the earth of the side of the sinking foot. You will assuredly get some benefit. When you are able to get live instruction, you can get the details worked out through feedback and correction on actual visible body mechanics.

While some of the bone work in QF4 is related (pun intended), you’ll have to wait for Greater Kan & Li to get into ancestral issues with any seriousness.

There is nothing like interacting with one’s parents to show you just how ungrounded you are. ๐
If you spend more time getting grounded, you will be able to manage it all better. It won’t change them or your feelings about them, but you will be able to remain more neutral and not take their actions/behaviors so personally. It will allow you…[Read more]

Steven replied to the topic fusion for physical issues? in the forum Practice 8 years, 10 months ago
The main purpose of Fusion 1 is to harmonize the five shen, purge toxic emotions, and create a space where the virtue qualities of the five shen can arise.
Consequently, the main obvious benefit is deep emotional work.
As to your question: one way that a person can use Fusion 1 for physical benefit that is not so minor is in the processing…[Read more]

I would say that most of the weight is on K-1 when you do Deep Earth Pulsing properly. The heel alternately lifts and rests on the ground, but that’s not where the weight is. You want the weight primarily on K-1 so that the water qi is pumped up mostly into the kidney point. In other words, it sounds fine to me. Deep Earth Pulsing does have a…[Read more]

Thanks perceiver for the additional background.
However, I still stand by my original assessment, and–in fact–am even more solid in it now than before. It doesn’t sound to me like kundalini.
