Thanks for sharing; it is always interesting to see what
others do . . .Oh, and by the way, I about fell out my chair with your
picture. Quite intense . . . I don’t think I’ll think
of childbirth quite the same again. Thanks,

I love to practice during the night when everything is
silent and peaceful. My practice seems potentized more
so then, and I feel more like I can connect to a stronger
awareness . . .Steve

Oh no. Here I am responding to my own post.
I’ve always considered responding to one’s one post
to be somewhat wacky, and here I am, going ahead
and doing it.At any rate, I don’t know why I have such an issue with this
food and practice thing. All I know is that having to stop
and eat, and then losing track of time while I wait…[Read more] -

Yeah, I tend to feel best while practicing qigong when I
am at the “sweet spot” between having just eaten and
not yet gotten hungry again, i.e. normal.I can eat less so that the downtime is less, but then I
have to eat more often which is just as annoying.I don’t know.

You bring up an interesting conflict. I both want and do not
want the food simultaneously. I eat it because I have to, but
wish I didn’t have to bother.I don’t know if that makes any sense.
BTW: That pic is intense!
Also, Barry/Chris, without being too invasive, what you guys DO in the
intervening time between finishing a meal…[Read more] -

Hi Barry,
True, there are definitely meditational aspects to eating
and food preparation that I hadn’t thought of. Good point.I’ve always had kind of a funny issue with food.
I tend to be more finicky than most people, and I’ve always
considered eating/meals to be more of an annoyance than
something good. In a way, I’d almost…[Read more] -

Hi Dog,
Thanks for responding.
I tried practicing today with just a half hour of wait time,
and it more or less was OK. Occasionally, I’d belch and
taste food, but didn’t really have too many problems.I think that you are partially right about using food as
an excuse to not practice; shortening the wait time should
help…[Read more] -

Hmm . . . I’m going to have to think more carefully.
The only thing of consequence I can think of now that
happened in 1998 is that I got my bachelor’s degree.BTW: What is a “chi fight”? Can you elaborate more
on this first major chi experience? 🙂Steve

I see what you are saying, but I still sort of think
that if one aspect is flawed, all are.The reason is that everything is interactive:
body-mind-spirit or jing-chi-shen. If the body is ill,
it affects the mind; and if the mind is ill,
it affects the spirit. In other words, one thing affects the whole system.
To me, it feels…[Read more] -

Hi Christian,
I agree with what David said above.
It’s kind of like asking the question, “which is better, to teach
my dog to sit in English or in French?”Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. If you continually repeat the word
“sit” in English along with your intention that the dog sit, then
eventually the dog figures out what you mean…[Read more] -

Hi Chris,
I’m not the moderator (obviously 🙂 ), but I have a quick fix for
you.Go to http://www.tinyurl.com
Drop your long link into the window, and click on the button.
It will give you a very short (cryptic) http link that
does the same job as the long one.Best,

That’s almost the same as me! I have 11 hours and 33 minutes of driving . . .
and I will be driving! -

REALLY?
Try it again. I think you must have typed a number in wrong.
The numbers are latitude, longitude.I don’t see how you could get Montana; it is not at 36.165397 degrees north.
Are other people having difficulty?
It works for me, for every starting location I choose!Steve

Just to add to what I said earlier and to supplement some of
great advice given by others:Sometimes apparent negative results from qigong come out as a
symptom of being much of an overachieving Type-A personality. What I
mean is that by doing qigong, your energy flows better and you feel
like you have more energy; then, if you are too…[Read more] -

I agree with the comments that singing ocean said.

let me offer you some things to consider–some of which may relate.Do you notice a lot of tension in your neck and shoulder muscles?
Often this is a contributor to this problem. This can cause
blood and chi to…[Read more] -

Hi wendy,
If it makes sense to you and your partner, go with it.
My initial reaction was “this sounds like a bad idea”,
but then after reading more of your threads and trying
to get a feel for your spirit, my opinion has changed.
I think my initial reaction was really due to projecting
myself into the situation, as it is something…[Read more] - Load More
