Republicans LIKE TO BILL THEMSELVES as the party of
“small government” and like to try to seduce people
to their party by making scaring statements such as
“Democrats want big government; Democrats want socialism;
Democrats’ll tax ya”But Republicans DON’T actually believe in governmental
non-interference . . .They are married to…[Read more]

Steven replied to the topic Is the matrix and the terminator channeled info? in the forum Philosophy 16 years ago
I think what “supposedly” happened was that she wrote the
manuscript for her book years ago, and submitted it to the studios
claiming a personal copyright. The studios weren’t “interested”
in her manuscript. Then she felt that the subsequent movies
“Terminator” and “The Matrix” were some rip-offs of some ideas
in her previously…[Read more] -
Steven replied to the topic are dvds region free in the forum General 16 years ago
I’m 99% certain they are region-free.
Typically, the only DVDs that are region-encoded are
movie and TV DVDs, for the purpose being to prevent the sales
of the DVD of a movie/TV show in another country/region
where the movie/TV show has yet to be released. This is the “philosophy” behind region-encoding anyway.
Unless the people…[Read more]

Since we don’t have a copy of her manuscript, we have no idea
if the movies are a direct rip-off or not. At the same time,
virtually nothing new in Hollywood is completely original–just a
recycling of old ideas already established, so any movie made
is likely to exhibit similarities to some already published writings.Since this woman…[Read more]

Hello All,
Be careful in believing some of the math on that website!!!
Some of it is WRONG, and so this puts his trustworthiness into question.FOR EXAMPLE:
His information about the “TRUE VALUE OF PI” etc. is utter nonsense.Just in case anyone was/is lured in,
and may actually believe his claim,
let me now provide a “MATHEMATICAL…[Read more] -

A physical force is manifested as a result of pure thinking
and no application of physical force on my part . . .
seems like that qualifies as telekinesis to me.If you restrict yourself to induced motion only due to
non-scientific means, I concede . . . BUT it is a gray area.Suppose the machine reading the brain waves becomes more…[Read more]

Could increased pollution trigger increased earthquakes?

Thanks Dog for sharing an interesting article.
Here’s the explanation from the physics perspective.FORCE ISSUE
A bee doesn’t weigh much at all.
From physics, F = m * a
Thus with such a small mass m, you can have pretty substantial acceleration a,
and still yield a relatively tiny force F required to get the bee up to…[Read more] -

Creating a stereotype creates a judgemental thoughtform
which poisons the field. There’s a common stereotype that “boys are better at math
and science than girls”. This is BS. From my experience,
girls and boys are just as good at it–it’s just that the
boys get the encouragement, whereas the girls are expected
to not do as well.…[Read more] - Load More
