This seems possibly bitter or sarcastic but, nevertheless, would still fall under physical death.

There is nothing to it. Do it or don’t nut don’t spin around in deepening quicksand over nothing.The core “chi techniques” are both surprisingly powerful and obviously limited.
The real strengths are:
-harmonization/relaxation which obviously help with any stress issues
-re-balancing a system and being able to describe previously present but undefined forces
-psychic activation
-finding coreThe surprisingly powerful part should become obvious through simple practices like the orbit, organ charging, the golden elixir, and steaming. Most techniques have immediate effects.
The limited part basically illustrates what chi is and isn’t. Even given the above, I very seriously doubt that chi work on a cut finger will show much improvement compared to neosporin. I have personally done reiki work that IS REAL and has a real remote effect. One of the most profound effects is the direct knowledge that there is another “dimension” and peace. I still doubt the power versus something chemical.
I personally do not feel that the “USA” practices like animal stances, bizarre breathing, or gymnastic baguas are more than specialist gymnastics for a bored day, but the core bagua practices, as part of the original tradition, do work. They could just as easily be spirals or squares or simply a funnel/vortex. The important ones are the later ones projected outside of the body. That is a real arena and works. If you question any of that I suggest taking a class from Mantak Chia.
The surprisingly powerful, again, come sinto play through things like the dark rooms. You can really, in a very short amount of time, access a concurrent spiritual dimension which is
life changing.

A vast leap could be made by addressing the difference between visualization and focusing, or charging, practices. They are two totally different things.
The microcosmic orbit is completely effective when it is felt and charged, not when it is somehow “visualized”. The charging is a palpable issue of focus and electricity. The visualization is not. This could be proven. Surely some sort of MRI or other imaging can show this?
The “New Age” community has a horrible reputation for weak visualization practices which are seen as hocus pocus mumbo. That’s because of weak visualization practices.
In contrast, solid work has been done showing self, or body, image projection as a very powerful psychological tool and, possibly, for dream time or “remote” studies…
These are, again different things. The problem with breath practices is the lack of evidence that the “inner” breathing is a real phenomenon and not an illusion.
This brain and immune system work is really phenomenal but how do these Taoist cosmologies reconcile these profuse rodent origins with the supposed cosmic “prenatal” self? If it looks like a duck and quacks like one, is it not most likely a duck?
