I’m so tired of hearing the world is going to end. Simply put, we will never run out of anything important. It’s straight cornucopian theory. It goes like this…
1) There’s a problem.
2) Lot’s of people invest money trying to solve the problem.
3) Lot’s of people loose money.
4) Someone discovers a solution and makes lots of money.
5) We’re better off than when we started. There are no problems that man can not overcome. The answer is not to reduce, reuse, recycle. That ideology only leads to poverty.
The answer is to determine the best way for yourself to live and let other people decide the best way for themselves to live. Economics and capitalism will solve the problems of supply and demand.
You can put the government into the equation if you want, but it’s hardly ever worked. They get stuck on a particular problem and a particular solution and usually cause more harm than good.
The real answer is to drive more and use more energy. This will increase prices, which will increase the incentive for a solution. Once we have a solution, we’ll be better off than we are now.
By delaying the problem, and removing the economic incentive to create a real solution, all we get are ineffective government solutions and more regulations.

However, not with God. He created the Earth in 6 days (+1 for rest). He created an Earth with a back story of His devising. Then he introduced man to see humanity unfold.
I think the story of our moon is amazing. Check out “The Universe” series to hear about 2 planets colliding while the Earth was still molten. This amazing collision created our moon.
However, this collision never happened and the moon was really created in an instant. It was created with all of the evidence to support this back story already in place.
You may ask, what’s the difference if it took millions of years or 6 days to set the stage for humanity. I believe the Bible is true and not just a book of morals. The 10 commandments are not called the 10 Tips. The Bible says 7 days, so that’s what it is.
By faith… Believing without seeing. It’s an important concept.

“i wonder how long it took god, how god did it, and if there’s any evidence?”God created the world in 6 days. On the 7th day He rested. God spoke and it happened. There is no evidence.
Intelligence wrote…
“hmm… i wonder why every bit of evidence the genuine scientific community has ever gathered points to a rocky lump that began to emit gases that condensed into water on the surface of a rock ball..”That’s because God is perfect and He isn’t going to supply any proof for His existence. He created the world in such a way that it could be extrapolated backwards.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Neither. They were both created at the same time. However, if a researcher came along and studied the chicken and the egg, he would determine that the chicken laid the egg. That’s the thing with God, he doesn’t leave evidence of His passing. He creates perfect.
When God created the world, he created a world in every stage of being: from birth to decay. In an instant, he created a world where there was already poop on the ground.
Some would say this contradicts free choice. Because, under this reasoning, the world could really be 5 minutes old and all of our memories implanted. But God created man on the 6th day and he rested on the 7th.
Some important things to realize… 1) There is no proof that God created the world. 2) The world God created works under rational laws and is self consistent. 3) We are not animals, but special created by God for a purpose.

The system is experiencing stress. You need to manage this stress. Some stress will aid development when endured. Other stress needs to be released or avoided. Balance, tolerance, and stability need to be learned while moving.
Maybe try accupuncture to adjust the energies and sensations.
Focus on neck alignment and energy flow. Head pulling away and balanced, shoulders down and relaxed, chin slightly tucked.
With Pilates, I’ve really learned to notice neck stress and alignment. Sometimes releasing my neck will cause cramping in my back. I’m working my way through it.
March 8, 2007 at 11:06 am #21515Yi TaoParticipantClutter is a bad thing. It’s a great idea to get rid of stuff that’s just lying around. I personally like the need, use or love test. If you don’t need, use or love something, get rid of it. And if you’re keeping something because you love it, are you treating it as if you love it?
Imagine your environment if it only includes stuff that you need, use and love.
March 1, 2007 at 2:02 pm #21383Yi TaoParticipantIf Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, then the Bible is only a book of moral stories. Might as well read Dr Phil in church.
And to say that Christians don’t get it is misleading. Scientists have told Christians that their religion is based on a lie and yet there have been no death threats or riots. Most Christians have either shrugged their shoulders or shaken their heads.
Do you even realize that you statement “Love is the Law” is as meaningless and insidious as “It’s for the children”?
February 15, 2007 at 12:19 pm #21162Yi TaoParticipantIt’s amazing how Taoism applies to our bodies in so many ways. Flow and breathing is healthy. Stagnant and bloated is not.
Our muscles breath sugar. They do not use blood sugar directly, but have a sugar store like a battery. When we use our muscles, we tap that sugar reserve (breath sugar out). After exercise, our muscles absorb sugar from the blood stream to replace what was used (breath sugar in). This action of breathing is healthy. It’s also healthy to have a slow carb type of snack after exercise so that the muscles can absorb sugar from the bloodstream without causing a strain on the system.
Sedentary lives neglect the action of muscle breathing, causing stagnation and leading to a whole list of health problems.
February 13, 2007 at 8:05 am #21073Yi TaoParticipantAccording to NASA, there has been no change in atmospheric temperatures since 2000. The temperatures have been scattered, but have not changed.
It’s possible the warming trend is over and we’re about to cool off. But we know the drill; different catrastrophy, same solution.
Michael Crichton’s book is a mixed bag. You may want to read “Eco-Imperialism: Green Power, Black Death” by Paul Driessen.
“Radical greens are masters at devising exaggerated, imaginary and bogus eco-catastrophes–then imposing policies that give them unprecedented power, deprive other people of their freedoms and opportunities, impoverish entire nations, and cause not just impoverishment, but incalculable misery, disease and death.”
“Malaria is another scourge made infinitely worse by green extremists. We used DDT to eliminate this mosquito-borne disease in the United States and Europe. Now well-off environmental activists can afford to rail against pesticide use in Africa, while they enjoy all the comforts that our high-tech, malaria-free society bestows upon them.”
“Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton was right on target when he told San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club: ‘Banning DDT is one of the most disgraceful episodes in the twentieth century history of America. We knew better, and we did it anyway, and we let people around the world die, and we didn’t give a damn'”
“‘When I helped create Greenpeace in 1971,’ Dr. Moore reflects, ‘I had no idea it would evolve into a band of scientific illiterates who use Gestapo tactics to silence people who wish to express their views in a civilized forum. I had no idea the movement would oppose genetic engineering and other programs that could benefit mankind – and adopt zero-tolerance policies that so clearly expose its intellectual and moral bankruptcy.'”

Many assume that anyone who agrees with man made global warming is honest and anyone who disagrees is being paid off. There is a new situation brewing that anyone who disagrees with man made global warming needs to be stripped of their certification or fired.
Global warming is a tricky situation. The recent UN publication was the executive summary that was written by politicians. It’ll be interesting when the scientific report comes out in the next month or two. I’ve heard it might back off on a lot of the summary’s claims.
There is even a theory that global warming has stopped and we’re about to enter a new phase of global cooling. Won’t that be fun!
There is still a debate about global warming. And there is still a debate about what is an appropriate solution.
It’s too bad the environmentalists demonized nuclear power. Matter to energy is the only way to go.
February 8, 2007 at 2:04 pm #20891Yi TaoParticipantThere is an interesting diet called the Shangri-La Diet. It’s based on how the brain works and what we’ve learned by studying rats. It has nothing to do with nutrition, just general weight loss.
The big idea is that calories without taste suppress our appetite and we loose weight. Our bodies are trained genetically to store fat during the summer and use that fat during the winter. It seems taste is a key factor in fat storage. When we have lots of tasty food it is a signal to gain weight. When we have few tasty options, it’s time to conserve our resources, eat less, and use our body fat.
The diet works by introducing calories without taste. Sugar water or oil is taken with a 1 hour taste abstinence before and after.
It’s really interesting to consider that we still have lots of animal instincts, and no matter how evolved we may pretend we have become, our bodies still instinctively react on a genetic level without conscious thought.
February 6, 2007 at 4:23 pm #20705Yi TaoParticipantAnyone who say that Sun Tzu believed war was the last resort doesn’t understand Sun Tzu. He believed armed forces were the last resort because there are easier ways to defeat the enemy.
“The master conqueror frustrated his enemy’s plans and broke up his alliances. He created cleavages between sovereign and minister, superiors and inferiors, commanders and subordinates. His spies and agents were active everywhere, gathering information, sowing dissension, and nurturing subversion. The enemy was isolated and demoralized; his will to resist broken. Thus without battle his army was conquered, his cities taken and his state overthrown. Only when the enemy could not be overcome by these means was there recourse to armed force.”
War will never be over until it is over. And right now, war isn’t over. The new consciousness is an interesting idea. I’ve played the believing game and I finally came to the conclusion that I can ignore it until it happens. I can not live in the future, only the present. Some day my car may use hydrogen rather than gasoline, but that doesn’t mean that I can pretend that my car use hydrogen today.
January 31, 2007 at 5:17 pm #20685Yi TaoParticipantI’m not impressed with the conspiracy theory, nor the counter conspiracy theory, nor counter counter conspiracy theory. I’m just numb to it all.
If someone doesn’t like America (or President Bush), chances are that they believe the conspiracy theory. And vice versa. The same with elections being rigged. If someone’s guy looses, then the fix is in. It’s all politics and not the good kind.
Suffice it to say, if you actually listen to radical Muslims you will hear the chant “Death to America”. You can hear this in the Middle East, Europe, and America.
There have been terrorist attacks on the United States by radical Muslims since its birth. If you research Thomas Jefferson and Muslims, you’ll get a very interesting history lesson. At one point the United States government was paying 1/3 of all taxes as tribute to Muslim pirates so they’d stop attacking our trade ships. The day after Jefferson became president he sent the fleet to stop them. He said the situation could only be resolved through the medium of war. When you hear the verse “to the shores of tripoli” that’s Jefferson stopping radical Muslims.
Will we ever know the truth about 911? I’ve no clue. Both doubters and believers already think we do. But we do know the truth about radical Muslims.
So the world is going to be an even more interesting place. Will Iran collapse from within with the help of Saudi Arabia or is more war about to break out?
I’m not sure why so many believe war is bad. Sometimes the medium of war is needed. Yin and Yang, fire and water, war and peace: can any exist without the other? Why is one bad and the other good? It’s all part of the Tao.
January 24, 2007 at 10:04 am #20671Yi TaoParticipantMmmm, slow braised baby back ribs, glazed with the reduced sauce. A pig is but a walking meal waiting to be served.
If you want to balance one side’s propoganda with another side’s propoganda, there is a well reseached and cited video that debunks Loose Change point for point.
January 19, 2007 at 4:41 pm #20504Yi TaoParticipantYou can not take Jesus’ words about relationships between individuals and apply them to the relationship between an individual and the state. Romans 13 is very clear – the state “does not bear the sword for nothing”.
As a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, I am in no way in discord with Christian belief.
Cherry pick if you want, but it is ingenuous and ignorant.
January 19, 2007 at 1:27 pm #20498Yi TaoParticipantIf you really care about Christianity… read Romans 13
– Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities
– he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted
– if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing
– He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoerIf you still care, read Matthew 22 15-22. It was written specifically for your type of selective scripture picking.
– Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words.
– But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?”I’m still not sure what Christianity has to do with the Iraqi legal system. But Jesus already covered people trying to twist the Word of God to their own purposes. There is nothing evil or wrong with following a legal system. In Christianity, the legal system and the religious system are not one in the same. This is not the case with the Muslim religion: the legal system and the religious system are intertwined. So I repeat… you should really reference the Koran if you want to condemn the decapitation caused by botched hanging that happened in Iraq.
So what’s your next bumper sticker phrase?
