My bride, Jennifer “Jem” Minor,
climbing in her native Alaska mountains. Her blood is Cherokee,
Cheyenne, and Irish, which warms the Celtic cockles
of my own heart (“Winn” is Welsh). One of her many tests of my
worthiness as a possible husband was to see if I could keep up with her
as she scampered, monkey-like, up 2000 feet of sheer vertical cliffs to her secret Eagle’s Nest high above the lake (this photo).

Fortunately, I have “double Monkey” in my Chinese astrology chart…..and love high places. Years of qigong training and climbing Taoist sacred mountains allowed me to pass her test. And she passed mine, by having an Energy Body that loves Primordial Qigong and Taoist inner alchemy. It’s a match made in The 36th (Highest) Taoist Heaven!

Dear “Dreaming of Love” and China Adventurers,

Everyone loves a good LOVE STORY, so I’m going to tell you one. Being a
spiritual guy, my story inevitably had its own spiritual twists. I
didn’t just “fall in love”. Perhaps my inner cauldron is too expanded,
too full of cosmic chi, to “fall” into someone else’s personal space.
Rather I watched helplessly, with great meditative pleasure, as divine
love fell into us. Another way to say it: our marriage has “DESTINY”
written all over it. But before I go into the juicy details, let me fast
forward to the end:

You are invited to attend my wedding to Jem Minor atop Flower Mountain
(Huashan) in China. We’ve made our wedding ceremony as the climax of the
China Dream Trip (May 18 – June 8, 2012). It will be the Year of the
Water Dragon, and I expect a host of Tao Immortals and Dragon Spirits to
show up for the ceremony. Dragon Years are extremely auspicious for
travel and making exciting changes in your life.

Chinese dragons are symbols of imperial power and good luck, are known
to control the water element, and are associated with Spring and
rebirth. Jem and I are very clear that our spiritual mission involves a
Water (birthing) phase. This could take many forms, and includes the
potential for Conscious Conception of a divine love child with a destiny
filled with harmony and spiritual grace. We’ll invite this child-spirit
to attend the wedding ceremony, and hope it comes riding in on a
fire-breathing Water Dragon. The child has already revealed its spirit
name to us as “Emerald” (speaking to us from a voice in deep Earth).

Jem and I will begin our honeymoon with two days in my favorite cave on
Huashan after the ceremony. Ten years ago I stayed without food or
water in this cave, and it inspired one of my best essays, “Taoist

We hope everyone who comes on the Dream Trip will participate in the
Water Dragon Wedding Ceremony, and be empowered by it. Think of Huashan
as Nature’s most powerful spiritual antenna in China. We intend to use
its power to broadcast support for a new cycle of love and rebirth to
the whole planet.

So the ceremony is not just for us and Emerald. There is a lot of
consciousness about 2012 being a pivotal year for planetary change,
which also resonates with a Water Dragon Year. In our ceremony, we’re
going to focus it positively, and capture the good chi trapped in
crumbling old cultural and economic systems and alchemically re-birth it
into new and higher orders of harmony and balance.

I’ve visited many Taoist sacred mountains in China. Huashan’s fame is
well-deserved; it is China’s most spiritually powerful mountain in my
experience. That’s why I’ve climbed Huashan ten times, and am making a
film about it. It’s why I pioneered the use of its 2500 year old Taoist
caves for Western Taoists to meditate in. Modern Chinese Taoists rarely
use these caves, with one exception, my friend Master
Stone-of-Perfection..

Huashan has a uniquely intense spiritual energy. Historically,
according to written records and legends,  more Taoists achieved
immortality on Huashan than anywhere else in China.  Interestingly, many
of those achieved Taoist adepts were female. So even though Huashan is
famous for its “yang earth” quality of chi, nearly all the temples that
dot its spectacular cliffs are to female deities. We’ll be staying in a
monastery with a temple dedicated to the Goddess of the Nine Heavens.

Huashan is literally a direct portal to the consciousness of the Deep
Earth Being, whose core channel is aligned to the Pole Star. If you are
grounded enough to handle the intense Earth vibration within Flower
Mountain, then Heaven will flower within your heart. This is not just
true for the ancients – many Dream Trippers have experienced it. A
Taoist scholar who came on our trip and stayed in a cave was amazed by
his experience of the Polestar’s Purple Light. Before this, he thought
the Taoists were just using poetic metaphor.

Other folks on my trips have met Dragon spirits, who can be a bit
challenging. One Dream Tripper took a photo from the top of Huashan at
sunset of a small speck of light that was moving suspiciously fast, like
a UFO. When he enlarged the photo, it was an image of a white
light-bodied person wearing long Chinese-like robes, with wings. I
personally accept that any adept who learns to ride Huashan’s inner
Dragons while meditating in its caves can attain spiritual immortality
quickly (i.e. in one lifetime).

Back to the Love Story….How I Met the Jem of my Life

 

Jem has a deep, yin, oceanic inner nature, perfect balance for my yang.

Long time readers will remember back in 2008, when I wrote about the
death of my wife Joyce Gayheart and our soul merger three days
afterwards. Spirit was pushing me to find another woman and birth some
kind of “divine love child”, who held the potential to also be my next
spiritual teacher. I did not feel any need for children, who are messy
and a lot of work (thanks Mom and Dad for doing it for me!). But I
agreed to the fathering task, on the condition that the Spirit-Child
find me the right Mother. I asked that the Mother would be attuned to an
alchemical process of Conscious Conception.

I will skip the 3 years of twists and turns in my dating life since
2008 and my two near-marriages that didn’t work out. There is a gold
mine of learning that I want to share in that process, because I know so
many people are going through it.  Issues like personality vs. soul
attraction, use of astrology to determine compatibility, astral sex as a
way of pre-testing, free will vs. destiny, use of Taoist qigong ritual
to speed up the process, and scanning future probable timelines. This is
where the sexual rubber hits the spiritual road. But it’s too much to
squeeze into this newsletter, so I’ll save it for future letters. But
it’s very juicy stuff.

Instead, let’s zoom to last November 2010. I’m assisting my mother in

). She’s already left her body two days earlier. I sense she has come
back close to earth to complete unfinished soul business with her seven
children. I know she has a wide-angle view of human life, from beyond
physical time-space. Telepathically, I hear her voice, crystal clear:
“Mike honey, the woman you are looking for is coming in six months. She
lives in Asheville.”

I totally trust my mother at this point: why lie when you’re in the
bardo? So I relax. In six months, I know I will be starting the most
significant Taoist cycle of my lifetime, the return to my Metal Rabbit
birth year. It means I’ve been through every combination of the 12
animals zodiac and their 5 element cycles. I’m ready for something
really new, BIG time, like marriage. (Year of the YIn Golden Rabbit

In fact, I even cancel the China Dream Trip 2011 to allow space for the
relationship to develop – BEFORE the woman has even shown up. That is
really radical for me.  I tell the disappointed folks who signed up all
the other reasons for cancelling (negative I Ching reading, slow
signups, need a break -15 trips in 10 years). But at core, it’s a Rabbit
Year, and I’m a boy rabbit preparing his nest for a girl rabbit.

Right on Mom’s schedule, Jem (Jennifer Minor) shows up a week shy of
six months. We meet at a  Ecstatic Sacred Dance circle in Asheville. I
consider it a form of Spontaneous Qigong, as there is no talking
allowed, the goal is embodied awareness, and the music goes through 5
rhythms, similar to Chinese 5 element theory. In this space, with 100
bodies undulating, my eyes lock together with Jem’s, bonded by some
powerful magnetic force.

Afterwards, Jem presents a stoic face, and pretends there is no
romantic attraction. We don’t meet for another 2 weeks, when she finally
consents to visit my home. But meanwhile, I’ve been downloading
intense information from my soul and oversoul, so I already know she is
the ONE. My mother’s prediction is just another confirmation. A note
greets her on my front door: “Welcome Home”.

After spending just ONE day with her, I invite her to move in, certain
that we will marry. We are not even lovers yet. That sounds totally
CRAZY, especially for someone as PICKY as me. One of  my trusted female
advisors to my Partner Search had already warned me: “You have so many
conditions, I wonder if anyone exists that could meet them all”. I told
her: “There are 3 billion females on planet Earth. Tao only needs to
deliver one unique female to me. Why accept less?”

And it turned out that Jem is equally picky as well, if not more so.
But from the outside, it looks irrational. Some loving friends tried to
warn Jem and I to double check whether our decision to marry, after only
another 3.5 months, was hasty. But the reality is, we already felt
married.

I pass the Alaska state rite of
catching a big salmon…another test by my bride. Deep sea fish is an
auspicious fertility sign….:)

How do you know when it’s the right partner?

It comes down to knowing yourself deeply. Everyone has their own path
to Self-knowledge. This is where qigong and inner alchemy skills served
as my reliable inner guides. Most people make big decisions based on
feedback from their personality only. This can be problematic, as the
personality is constantly changing. In the Taoist view, this is
essentially the inner zodiac of 12 organ and bowel spirits that run the
body-mind (xin, literally “heart-mind”).

All qigong is aimed at harmonizing these body spirits and their energy
channels of communication, with the outer physical world. Inner alchemy
skill connects the body-mind (xin) to our inner spiritual world, the
soul (ling) and oversoul (da shen, lit. “great spirit”). Both skills
harmonize the huge stream of inner and outer world “data” into an
energetic language of flow.

So when I felt the frequency of Jem’s Energy Body was in deep harmony
with mine at all levels, the question was already answered. She had the
power and the groundedness to handle my field. Her heart was totally
focused on love, personal and cosmic, and she was completely open to the
Taoist process of continuous, in-the-moment transformation. it just
remained for our personalities to lovingly play out our destiny.

That’s what we’re doing, starting with our Water Dragon Wedding Ceremony atop Mt. Hua.

What happened to the Primordial Tai Chi book?

 

I thought I was going to finish the Primordial book this spring. The
working title is still “Tai Chi – Path of Self-Love”. I’ve loaded it
with insights into all Taoist cosmology, numerology, qigong, tai chi,
chinese medicine, and internal alchemy. With loads of very cool photos
and images.

The book, or rather e-Book, is closer to completion.  But I suddenly
found new material that needs translating, and photos from Zhu Hui (my
teacher). Plus, I kept having deeper insight from my practice, that I
felt needed integrating before I publish it. I used this Primordial form
to focus my intention in speeding up the search process for my true
love partner, and believe it was invaluable.

So all I can say is, I appreciate your patience
