Excerpt from new book by Robert Peng and Rafael Nassar: Qigong Master: My Life and Secret Teachings. +Update on China Dream Trip, Full Moon-Winter Solstice conjunction. Tai Chi symbol can be seen as an aggregate of small yin-yang cycles within a larger cosmic yin-yang pulsation. The central premise of alchemy is that a hidden opposing force (here the dark moon within cycle of bright yang suns) causes any cycle to reverse itself.
Dear Lovers of Going Deep into the Darkness Within, It’s that time of the year again, for those living on the northern half of the planet: long nights, darkness expanding to its maximum. A six month cycle of planetary Yin or “in-breath”, from Summer Solstice to Winter Solstice. The yang breath expands out as Spring and Summer. That’s the annual solar cycle. But the two week lunar cycle of full and dark moons weaves in and out around this slower solar cycle. Together with the daily spin of the earth in 12 hour light and dark cycles, this sun-moon-earth trinity define the rhythm we call Time. This year I’m celebrating the “power spot” of the Full Moon BEFORE the Winter Solstice. It’s Dec. 10 Full Moon that captures the intersection of the lunar and solar cycles closest to the Great Yin point of Winter Solstice on Dec. 21. This means, in simple language, that Dec. 10 is doubly powerful, as it captures the essence of the lunar cycle and solar cycle at a key moment in Time. So if you do a ceremony on Dec. 10, it’s effect (and your ritual intent) will be amplified. The details of the free meditation and crystal bowl concert on Dec. 10 at my home are listed below. It is a RSVP event. But I encourage you to tune in, wherever you are. Instructional link for creating your own Winter Solstice ceremony can be applied on Dec. 10 with great magical power. Details are in an old newsletter (you may need to sign in at top of page to get a cookie to read this): https://healingtaousa.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?rm=mode2&articleid=128 I’m also including a book excerpt and short review that is appropriate for this time period of going into the Darkness. The excerpt is from a new book by Robert Peng and Rafael Nassar: Qigong Master: My Life and Secret Teachings. The section I’ve excerpted is about Robert’s experience of spending 100 days in a dark room, mostly alone, with occasional checkups by his teacher. Talk about facing your fear of the Dark Side! He has an 8 day experience of “Little Death”, and a merger into the Wuji/ formless space. See my review below. Updates on China trip and huge discount sale are also included. China Dream Trippers in front of China’s most famous Taoist temple, the Temple of Heaven. Architetually, this is my favorite temple in China, and I am planning to build a replica in the USA as a future summer retreat space. I’ve been getting dreams about it recently, so I think something is in motion…..

Qigong Master: My Life and Secret Teachings ( book excerpt)
You can order this book for $28. (plus s/h) by emailing Jan at info@HealingTaoUSA.com or calling her at 888 999 0555. It is not yet posted on my website. A lovely gift to yourself or a friend. Full Disclosure: I love this book, and consider it the best Qigong biography on the market. But I also love the authors Robert Peng and Rafi Nasser, who are both good friends. Rafi edited Under One Sky, the best (and only) astrology book to compare 12 different schools of astrology reading a single chart. The chart is Joyce Gayheart’s, my spirit wife who passed from a brain tumor almost 4 years ago. (you can read Joyce’s life story from that book, or order Under One Sky from my site:https://healingtaousa.com/JoyceGayheart/Joyce_Book.html ANYTHING that Rafi Nasser edits is going to be good. He polished this book with Robert for 3 years, and the writing shows it. Robert Peng taught at my summer retreats for a number of years, and I had a chance to really appreciate both him and his teachings. Even though his main teacher was Buddhist, he was trained in many Taoist qigong and neidan methods, which is a common cross-over in China. Robert’s system is completely compatible with the HealingTao system, and he was even trained in the Lesser Kan and Li method, which he employed during his 100 day dark room retreat. Robert himself is a wonderfully humble and gentle soul, so it is literally a shock when his chi sparks into you during a healing session. His book details how he developed his healing power, and gives a lucid insight into the qigong culture within China at a time there was a lot of suspicion about it by the communists. His master had a number of exceptional powers, and this story carefully details Robert’s incorporation of some of these into his medical qigong training. So the book is useful in the details about Robert’s transition from naive boy to a highly skilled healer, but it is also lovely just as a story with many illuminating insights into the role of Qi (Chi) in spiritual life. I think this excerpt will reveal more than my own words…. BOOK EXCERPT: Perfect Peace I was meditating cross legged on the yellow cushion. Suddenly I had the sensation that I was in an ascending elevator and I rose higher and higher and higher… There was no top floor, and the higher I soared, the brighter it became. I felt like a tiny flame hurtling towards the sun. The brilliance spread through me and intensified. I merged completely with this boundless ocean of blazing light until I was extinguished. WINTER SOLSTICE + Full Moon MEDITATION & Crystal Bowl Concert SAT. DEC 10
Looking deep into the spinning Torus-vortex of Time as it alchemically “cooks” our soul
WINTER SOLSTICE + Full Moon MEDITATION & Crystal Bowl Concert Sat. December 10, 2011 (RSVP needed! Just hit Reply) 7:30 – 11:30 pm. Free, open to all, at my home. I’ve chosen this date (rather than on the Solstice.) because it is also a Full Moon. This is an especially powerful time for ceremony, the Light Power of the Moon alchemically intensifies the polarity of the Dark Winter Sun. Dark here implies the power to birth anew, from the depths of cosmic mystery. Please arrive 7 to 7:15 pm. We’ll start prompty at 7:30 pm with a Crystal Bowl concert by Kate Beloved, who gave a similar very amazing sonic performance at the Fall Equinox meditation event. After the concert, we’ll do a powerful Solstice Ceremony to rebirth our authentic personal self, followed by a short break. Then TWO silent sitting meditations in total darkness on the cycle of rebirth of the light that regulates our life. It is not necessary to stay for both sittings. All are welcome to stay later to celebrate the True New Year. The sitting times approximate (chairs available): 1. 9:15 – 10: 25 pm 2. 10:40 – 11:30 pm Light refreshments afterwards. This event is very popular, so RSVP early. Event is open only to those staying for one or both meditations (i.e. space is too limited to accommodate those who only plan to stay for the concert and ceremony). Email for RSVP and directions: winn@HealingTaoUSA.com Or just hit “reply” Tao of Hugging….
