Tao of Corona-Virus, in Golden Rat Year

Every cell in our body is mandala of the cosmos.  Corona-Virus breaks down the pattern of sacred geometry. But in Chaos Theory, which match ancient Tao theory, this is a necessary step to rebirth at a higher level of organization.

Dear Lovers of the Dance between Order and Chaos,

also called the Life vs. Death struggle.

[br]

Taoist cosmology views Nature thorugh the lens of very long Qi cycles of change. So a pandemic virus that seems horrible from human-viewpoint on the earth’s surface, looks very different from cosmic eagle looking down through multiple dimensions of Inner (= Heaven) and Outer (= Earth) Space-Time.

[br]

The Corona-Virus seems perfectly synchronized with the beginning of a new 12 year Chinese zodiac cycle. The Year of the Yang Golden Rat is about the metal element, which in Chinese medicine is linked to the lungs, the site of the Corona Virus infection. Lungs are the only deep (Yin) organ that has a mouth/nose opening to the outer world.  Lungs are more vulnerable than heart, kidneys, liver or spleen, which are safely sealed inside the “body=bag” of our skin and thus much harder to infect.

This virus-metal Rat cycle is not an accidental “coincidence”. In Tao cosmology everything happens by Yin-Yang subtle energy play of attraction-repulsion, expressed as “synchronicity”. That means Humankind is doing a dance with the virus to learn something new about itself. – and accelerate our evolution into a new cycle.

There is an element of the virus acting to “cull the weak” from the old cycle of time-space. It’s just like sharks feed on the weak in a school of fish. Likewise with land animals.  In 1979 in TanzaniaI  viewing the largest mass migration of large mammals on earth, 2 million wildebeasts across the savannah of Africa.

I was amazed to observe how, when lions or leopards picked off the elderly and sick wildebeests, the main herd would calmly shift a few dozen feet away without any undue fear of the carnage happening in their midst. That is true natural acceptance of a necessary cleansing cycle.

So the virus is doing the alchemical work of accelerating human evolution. It is challenging us to be hyper-aware that every breath we take is a precious gift that could suddenly be taken away. It is driving humans and their nations to work together to achieve a higher level of harmony and love.

Qi (chi, ki in Japan) means “subtle breath”. So when people become hyper-aware that breath can bring them new life or a new death, it wakes people up. The global nature of a pandemic actually unifies us. It reminds us of our common human vulnerability.

     Why Did the Virus Choose China?

[br]

Why did the virus choose China? Because Chinese culture is ancient, it has a lot of baggage that needs cleansing in order for it to move forward on the global stage. It also highlights the “communal culture” of Asia that is so opposite to the cult of Individualism in the West. The 2000 deaths due to the virus are insignificant in a population that my Chinese friends says is closer to 1.8 billion (than official 1.3 Billion). Even if it were a million, it would be insignificant other than its impact on the national psyche.

Although the new virus can infect people of any age, older people and those with asthma, diabetes, or heart disease appear to be most vulnerable to die from this virus, according to WHO. I could find no clear statistic on average age of those dying, but a small sample study in Jan 2020 put the median age at 75.

Yes, 2,000. people have died from the virus in China, about a 2% death rate out of 75,000. infected.  Other analysts says those statistics are mis-leading – the death rate in ACTIVE cases is 12%. But even so,  compare that to 60,000. deaths from the flu in 2018-19 in the USA, out of millions infected.

         FEAR is Bigger Factor than Death – Will it Go Global?

So far, it’s not death-by-virus we are afraid of. What makes the Corona-Virus so scary is its mysterious mode of transmission, which is still beyond human knowledge and control. It’s beyond ORDER. It’s CHAOS  suddenly striking us without warning.

Over the last 40 years I have heard many predictions that the population of the earth NEEDS to be reduced by one third to allow a healthy environment. By Malthusian logic, Nature will find a way to do it. Weather changes that affect food production and mass starvation is one way. But much more efficient way is a viral pandemic. The Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918 killed 50 million people, about 3% of the world population. Could the corona-virus break out of its Chinese containment box?

‘I think it is likely we will see a global pandemic. If a pandemic happens, 40% to 70% of people world-wide are likely to be infected in the coming year. What proportion is asymptomatic [presenting no symptoms of disease], I can’t give a good number.’

This is just one pessimistic voice. It if happens, I will see it as “Mother Earth taking defensive action to protect against deadly pollution of the planet by reducing population”.

I personally don’t resonate with this prediction. But it’s wise to be alert to all possibilities. The best defense in ANY scenario is  to be one of the strong immune type whose integrated Energy Body gives you the edge in both surviving and thriving with a higher destiny here on earth.

   A Healthy Energy Body Can Defeat VIRAL FEAR

[br]

An “integrated Energy Body”, in laymen language, is the merging of your Personal Body-Mind with your Soul.

[br]

For basic starters, I suggest doing the Six Healing Sounds to clear out your fears and embrace your Lung Spirit. But do a more advanced form: Breathe in “unborn or pre-natal Qi” from your mingmen (Moving Qi between your two kidneys), fill your body and each organ spirit with this fresh super-charged energy flowing into your body from Origin/Source..

Self-love is the key — embrace your physical embodiment. Strengthen your will to live, don’t live like the weak-willed waiting to be culled. That will vastly improve your survival of both the flu and Corona Virus should it spread.

Get the tools to THRIVE, not merely SURVIVE!

In short, conquor “Viral Fear”  with Self-Love. Take outer health precautions, but rely on inner skill and will. Do it at the deep level of your personal Energy Body.  If you learn the higher inner alchemy practices, you can embrace CONSCIOUSLY the entire multi-dimensional spectrum of the cosmic cycle of life and death as one smooth Macro-Cosmic Orbit.

That is the path of Tao Inner Alchemy – to internalize the Macro cycle of Nature within our Micro human body-nature. It is simple, and its works. That is why it is still practiced over thousands of years of the changing cycle of Time  & Space.

The Chinese archetype of Rat is the opposite of its lowly, dirty image in the West. Rat is brilliant and hard working, extremely successful. It is considered one of the top three “power animals” of the zodiac, along with Dragon and Monkey. It is industrious, accumulating wealth and accomplishing goals by small but steady  effort.

Rat mind is always thinking, always planning, very cunning in finding value and storing it.
So do not look for immediate reward in a Rat Year – wait for autumn or even winter to harvest the fruits of your efforts.

In the cosmic cycle, Humankind is just beginning to spout a new consciousness of its higher destiny.
