FEEL FREE TO HIT REPLY and RESPOND. I love hearing from you! Inside Chi Flows Naturally: Turkey Whisperer Winn cuts to the heart of the matter. A silent Gobble is heard, then miraculously converted by the Great Whisperer into a post-Thanksgiving transmission as the contents of this newsletter. Dear Gobblers of the Way of Eternal Gratitude, It’s a cold Monday, I’m looking back to the warmth of last week’s Thanksgiving Thursday. Turkey-day is one of my favorite holy-days. I love it because of its simplicity. There a whiff of winter air, the Blue Ridge mountains in my backyard suddenly come into view — no leaves to hide them. I love Thanksgiving’s lack of religious pomp. It’s the most “natural” of national holy-days. It nourishes my Taoist desire to honor the alchemy of the sun shining from Heaven and the bounty of food rising up from the Earth. I had a very strong omen on Thanksgiving morning when two giant wild Turkeys, with their necks extended about 5 foot tall, strutted down the middle of my country road. They forced my car to slow to a crawl, giving me time to admire their proudly indifferent demeanor. Some folks think Turkeys are stupid. But animal biologists who study them say they are smart – they just don’t struggle like other creatures, and surrender easily when you want to eat them. It’s really a very high calling, for which I also give Thanks. I love the joy of sharing delicious food with family and friends, and have a fondness for turkey and cranberries. Even when I was vegetarian for 7 years, shaping lentil loaf into a turkey shape seemed to improve its holyday flavor. Now I follow a Flex-a-tarian 5-Elements diet: I let my 12 vital organ spirits, my inner zodiac, decide what’s good for them. They unanimously love roast Turkey. There is a historical discrepancy in our cultural myth: the original Thanksgiving with pilgrims included NO TURKEY – just eel, wild game, and duck. I’m personally fine with a Thanksgiving Eel or Duck. But let’s move beyond food, to the spirit of the holy-day, as revealed by the Great Turkey Whisperer. In a way, Thanksgiving is the most “Chinese” of all American traditions. In Chinese medical energetics, eating together nourishes our collective Earth element. This is central to building TRUST. The centrality of Earth Element in Chinese culture is why traditionally the Chinese would greet each other with the phrase “Have you eaten?” rather than “How are you?”. Many other cultures (Hindu, Buddhist, Egyptian, Arabic, Greek, Western esoteric) put Ether as the center element, not Earth. They are not as food-centric (except the Italians, who re-invented their sky-god roman culture. The Way (Tao) of Turkey Whispering asks that we open our hearts wider than we ordinarily do. There are many loving articles posted this time of the year, reminding us to be filled with gratitude for all the good things in our life. This is a truly welcome improvement to our media culture’s normal diet of negativity and violence. In this moment I am grateful for the internet, grateful that we can freely meet in cyber-space and share our feelings. I’m grateful that I’ve met many of my readers at live seminars, summer retreats, and China Dream Trips where we learned how to build a better Energy Body together. I’m grateful for those of you who donate to my non-profit 501c3, as it allows me to keep prices low. Note: I have never taken a salary, it’s my service gift to the Tao. Why Gratitude for Suffering? But this I’m-grateful-for-the-good hides a more profound universal truth that no one ever talks about. Perhaps the most important thing is to feel gratitude for the Suffering in our life. Why feel grateful for one’s Suffering? It sounds counter-intuitive – don’t we want to get RID of Suffering, and forget about it, drown it in a sea of happiness? Life doesn’t work that way. Taoist yin-yang theory holds that everything flows in cycles. If you are suffering, it means you are getting ready for a cyclical change into the polar opposite of Suffering, which is Joy. Joy would not exist, it would not be perceivable, without a cycle of Suffering to give it definition and a different feeling. I started my spiritual path because of suffering from hepatitis while working as a war correspondent in Africa. My suffering motivated me to investigate the most effective portable health system I could find, that I could travel with as I explored over 100 countries. I ended up with Taoist immortals beaming down into my Ethiopian hotel room in broad daylight. But even the bliss of feeling a beam of solid light sent into my dantian followed 3 days and nights of intense suffering from nausea and diahorrea. Sometimes we get both Joy and Suffering at once. I’ve recently married a beautiful woman, a true Jem, atop my favorite Taoist mountain in China after a three year quest to find her. We’re happily creating a space for conscious conception to unfold a new family. We regularly practice Primordial Tai Chi together – a great Joy in our relationship (I devote a whole chapter to Primordial Love & Sex in my upcoming books). Great love and bliss and high spiritual intentions abound in my life. Yet in exactly the same period I’ve been exposed to very dark forces – personal betrayal by two Taoist friends that I’ve known for over 25 years. This provoked a very intense challenge to what I thought were core feelings of trust. A conflict with ugly feelings of dis-trust erupted like a volcano from subconscious depths. Day and night, I felt oppressive dark clouds of evil behind the situation, wafting up from the hidden deeps of humanity’s collective psyche.
When you feel afraid, is it because of Darth Vader whispering in your ear? Are you courageous enough to track your innermost voice’s fear to its very root? The multi-dimensional nature of this evil situation was scary and overwhelming. My sensitivity may have been a result of qigong-internal alchemy training, which opens up multiple dimensions to our everyday consciousness. I saw what a huge task we humans have to clean up evil Qi. My ex-friends were in deep denial of their acts – they didn’t want to see that Darth Vader-like forces were whispering fearful thoughts in their ear. I saw clearly that Evil is stuck Qi that refuses to flow in harmony with the Life Force’s yin-yang cyclic pulsations of Qi. It shows itself to humans as energy frozen in fear, greed, revenge, and violence. Great Turkey Whisperer of Eternal Gratitude, for which feelings and events should I feel the most grateful – the Light or the Dark ones? I’ve come to realize the wisdom of gratitude equally for BOTH Joy and Suffering. That puts one into the neutral, detached space of Pure Love. Both Joy and Suffering are part of the wholeness of life, its endlessly recurring cycles. Seeing the darkness hidden in my own friends has forced me to look more deeply within my own shadow and to clear out my ancestral cobwebs that attracted the experience. Maybe this betrayal by old friends and feeling its evil Qi roots was a necessary step in clearing my family field for a high conscious conception. Perhaps it’s appropriate for a Yin Water Snake Year – I’ve been seeing many people forced to deal with shadow aspects in their life this past year. This is cleanup time after the Yang Water Dragon drama of the previous cycle and its anti-climactic Mayan Winter Solstice. People felt “let down” afterwards – but they forgot that “let down” meant to “look down” at what’s below, the yin part of the cycle. Because that is what will rise up in the next yang cycle, if not embraced and purified. Oceanic Birth of a New Religion: JOYism Four Natural Truths of JOYFUL LIVING (chief doctrine of JOYism): 1. The nature of human life is to feel JOYful. 2. JOY arises from our power to love existing life, including suffering, and create new life. 3. JOY diminishes when we fixate upon Suffering as the primary meaning of life. Embrace all Suffering as a stimulus to our finding strength, discovering and creating new forms of JOY. 4. The Way to Deeper JOY is to unfold our unique integrity, to lovingly and creatively share our strengths with others. I invite everyone to become a JOY-ist. To love the unity of their life, and embrace their Suffering, regardless of the high or low phase you are in. Sometimes the Joy comes only with death. I know my last wife Joyce was tired of suffering, it was more than she could embrace here. So she left – but it was still her choice, she was done carrying the heavy load for her ancestors. Since I maintained constant communication with her after death, I know she shifted into Joy. Read about her remarkable journey here: https://healingtaousa.com/JoyceGayheart/ The Inner Smile is a great method for simultaneously embracing the Light and Dark within our bodies and our life. It cultivates the Unity State, the Pure Love state I wrote about in my last newsletter. You can get my free eBook on Way of the Inne Smile: Tao Path to Self-Acceptance on the homepage of https://healingtaousa.com The movement ritual process I use for embracing and balancing the Light and Dark Side is Primordial Tai Chi for Enlightened Love. Before I begin this ceremony, I invite the Beings of All Directions and All Dimensions to participate – including the evil and dark ones. I know they are essential to the balance and flow of this Cosmos. Dark forces quicken our learning cycle so we can create at ever higher levels of yin-yang harmony. Joyce weaves her magic mostly while you are lying down, with no struggle against gravity. You can buy the CDs individually or get a $20. discount by getting the 4-CD set. 5. Goji Super Tonic: Feel “Healthy, Happy, & Horny”
Goji plump red berries are appropriate to the holidaiy season because when fresh picked they look like mistletoe’s red berries. It is festive drink, mixable with just about anything. The Total Goji (thick sauce like pulp of the berry) is the healthiest topping you can put on yoghurt or ice cream – a great replacement for sugar addicts. Last year I gave a bottle of goji to each of my six siblings, except one sister, who I got something different for her kids. She pined so loudly about not getting the Goji fix that I had to later give her some for her birthday…. This is a great edible or drinkable gift to give someone who is trying to wean themselves off coffee and caffeine and sugar. Goji juice gets you high – permanently. No crash. and SUPER-nutritious, the highest ORAC (anti-oxidant count) of any food in the world. Although I will soon be introducing another super-juice made from Coffeeberry that has an Orac double of goji! But goji is still the Queen of the Herbal Tonics. It is the one of the major tonic Chinese herbs for building your kidneys and liver. The list of health benefits is so long you’ll never be able to remember it all – but I do give 34 of reasons to drink goji on my website. This is currently the only food item on my site, and its because I am super-picky. This is the ONLY 100% organic natural nothing added Goji juice on the market. Nothing I’m saying about goji is hype (unlike some of the multi-level companies plugging fruit-juice sweetened goji). I drink this goji juice every day, and recommend it to all my students to offset the stress of modern life and poor diet. It’s far more powerful to drink the juice than to eat the berries or get it in powdered herbs. I sell the goji at the lowest price the manufacturer will allow. If you order two bottles, you get free shipping, the saving amounts to almost 20%. So keep one bottle for yourself, and the other will look great with a red ribbon around it. The healthiest consumable ever grown, thank you China! If you want to add 32 oz. bottles of other organic super-Qi juices – Noni, Mangosteen, or Acai – just ask Jan, who will either add it to your order or replace Goji.

Women In Daoism 4. Divine Traces of the Daoist Sisterhood 5. Cosmos and Community: 6. The Way of Highest Clarity 7. Myth and Meaning in Early Daoism. 8. Sitting in Oblivion by Livia Kohn (about early Taoist meditation method) 12. Living Authentically: Daoist Contributions to Modern Psychology, ed. Livia Kohn. $29.95 MY REVIEW of this book: Essential reading for Westerners seeking to integrate qigong, taiji, Daoist meditation, energy healing, and therapy practices with deep psychological insights from their own culture. It gives sharp focus to fuzzy issues: Reichian orgasm theory vs. Dao sex energy cultivation; psychological adjustment vs. wu wei and liberation; heady analytical thinking vs. whole-body process and correlative thinking; Jungian symbolic alchemy within Ego vs. substantial alchemical distillation of an immortal Soul; Western “Unconscious” vs. Primordial Qi model. It’s a breath taking, cutting edge Daoist dialectic with an amazing array of therapies – kinesiology, Energy Psychology, Positive Psychology, Psychosomanautics, Cognitive Therapy, and more. This milestone will be required reading at my own Daoist Depth Psychology program. – Michael Winn Since Jan in my fulfillment office has no way of knowing if you are responding to this free book offer when you order on the web, you must call her to place a book order and ask for the free bonus book. 7. Total I Ching: the Gift of Divination
For $14. bucks, this is about as high a value as one could dream for. I think my book review on Amazon says it all. This version of the I Ching has achieved cult status amongst Healing Tao inner alchemy adepts. This book is not yet posted on my site, but I finally got a stack of copies in – so call 888 999 0555 to order it. Reviewed by Michael Winn on Amazon: As a 30 year I Ching user, teacher of Taoist qigong and inner alchemy meditation, I was very skeptical when yet another I Ching translation arrived in the mail. But I knew Karcher’s scholarship was superb and was hoping for at least a few gems. Was I surprised to discover that this is the best I Ching I’ve ever used – it literally lives up to its name, The Total I Ching. I used to consult both the Wilhelm (elegant, but too confucian) and Wu Jing-Nuan’s “shamanic” Chou version to get a full spectrum of readings. Karcher’s Total I Ching version is both elegant, scholarly, and shamanic. It brilliantly integrates in the living elements of the shen (spirits) who are actually the agents of change, we could say the “managers” of shifts in the larger chi field that play out in our bodies and lives. There is only one test of an I Ching, and that is to use it in real life situations and see how “alive” and accurate the responses are for you. I found this version to be far superior to the other readings I previously used. Yin & Yang trigrams can be reduced to abstract and lifeless mathemtical symbols, or they can be experienced as living pulsations, voices from inner space. Total I Ching opens up the voices of the spirits, without losing the bracing clarity of the symbolic language. I am thrilled to find such a breakthrough work in a field of translations that are generally lacking in spiritual brilliance. Total Ching is a must have for I Ching lovers. ——————— This book redefines the notion of “stocking stuffer”. I sent a copy to my family one year, and they are still chewing on it.
8. Jade Egg – Elegant, Sensssssuous Womb-enhancing Gift
Jade eggs are useful for woman to improve and cultivate the quality of their orgasm. Jade eggs have a high vibration. The Chinese have always valued jade more than gold because of its balanced yin-yang energy. Jade eggs are preferable because they are sturdy. smooth and non-porous. Originally Egg Exercises were used for improving health, both physically and spiritually. The Jade Egg “sexercises” provide more power to the Chi Muscle to lift the sexual energy inward and upward, where it can be circulated to the other vital organs and help to balance the monthly flow of blood and daily cycle of hormones. Suitable for both younger women, those recovering from childbirth, and those dealing with menopause or later. The womb of a female is the most powerful center of gravity in the body. Unfortunately. t he womb tends to concentrate unprocessed (often negative) sexual and emotional energy. The egg “sex-ercises” can help to move that stuck energy and help you to own the inner space of your womb, which is the core power of the divine feminine. We recently found a new mine with much higher grade deep green jade eggs. The price has thus gone up to $44.95, but well worth it for such an intimate and powerful life-long talisman of sexual vitality. We now also include a lovely silk bag for protecting and transporting the egg. This is an intimate, elegant, health-enhancing, and sexy gift.

Training by Michael Winn in the rare and ancient shamanic Seven Star Big Dipper Qigong Ceremony, from Nu Xian Pai, “Path of the Female Immortals” lineage. It aligns with Taoist inner alchemy method of absorbing purple Qi from the Pole Star. This shamanic qigong generates a very special and powerful Qi field — used in ancient times to build a protective field around one’s community or before going into battle. Taoists believe the Pole Star & 7 Big Dipper stars control human destiny. Are you ready to take control of your destiny?
L: Dream Tripper meditating in 8 Immortals Temple. You can feel the vibration of 1500 years of meditation. R: Tripper in deep trance at Lao Tzu’s Ascension Site near Louguantai – amazing etheric energy, my favorite power spot in China. 13. Deep Meditation. Taoist temples allow space for deep tranquil meditation in the midst of 1.5 billion people. We’ll meditate (you choose a method best for you) in Beijing’s White Cloud Temple and Temple of Heaven; Xian’s City God Temple; the 8 Immortals Temple (1400 years old!); Huashan’s Jade Spring Temple, White Ruler God Temple, and Goddess of the 9 Heavens Temple, one of many Flower (“Hua”) Mountain temples dedicated to female Immortals. There are many “cave temples” atop Mt. Hua, dedicated to various divine beings – Jade Emperor, Thunder God, Kuan Yin, etc. These temples are all highly charged with deep spiritual energy of the Tao. 14. Stay in a monastery or a cave on Huashan. This has been hugely popular and led to many powerful spiritual experiences. For those who don’t want to “rough it” fasting in a cave, you can sleep and eat in a comfortable monastery and meditate during the day in a special cave, a Kuan Yin Temple that is not open to the public, just our group..
L: Statue of Chen Tuan at base of Mt. Hua. He’s The Sleeping Immortal who dreamed for months at a time. R: Weak Peak of Mt. Hua has a monastery atop it where we stay. 15. Have the spiritual adventure of a lifetime! This essay on Lucid Dreaming and Taoist Qi Science I wrote in response to a post on a UK lucid dreaming website after an international Lucid Dream Conference in London Nov. 11, 2013. It is pretty self-explanatory, and will be useful for those interested in the relationship between Taoist qigong, iinner alchemy, and lucid dreaming. I am cutting into a special “Dream Cake” baked into the form of an entire bookshelf. One of the books was my book on Taoist Secrets of Love. it actually tasted delicious, a gourmet dream within a bookish dream… I am happy to identify myself as the main target of Daniel Love’s polemic posted on the Lucid Dreaming website, I spoke on Taoist Internal Alchemy and Lucid Dreaming Qigong at the Gateways London conference. My talk on vital organ spirits triggered Daniel’s dire warning of the erosion of rationality, and an invasion of mystical eastern spirituality that threatens to engulf the lucid dreaming community. Daniel basically accuses eastern mysticism of being wishy-washy, unproven, and unscientific compared HIS lucid dreaming methods. I welcome genuine critique and debate about my ideas and methods. But I frankly, despite reading it twice, I cannot find ANYthing of substance in Daniel’s article. His thesis about lucid dreaming being “scientific” is strange, a bit dreamy. What scientist systematically relies upon dreams to do their empirical work? People who attended this wonderful conference will easily dismiss his bogus descriptions of what was presented. But since those who did not attend can be falsely misled, I will take the time to set the record straight. Daniel wants to portray himself as the savior of lucid dreaming with the most bizarre reasoning – that he is more rational and factual (his strange definition of lucid) than the presenters at the conference, who are corrupted by subjectivity and unprovable philosophies. Daniel admits he felt on the fringe at the conference. His honesty fades after that. His article applauding scientific rationalism and “factual reality” is itself full of false facts and weak reasoning, It’s a poorly disguised attempt to claim HIS own importance and HIS definition of what lucid dreaming is. Daniel’s subliminal commercial message is – read MY book, I’ve got the real truth about lucid dreaming. But his self-puffing piece is easily punctured by examining the true facts. Chuangtzu: Am I a man dreaming I’m a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming I’m a man? Can a Vital Organ Become Lucid? What at the conference upset him the most? It was my claim that opening energy channels with qigong, and shaping communication with our vital organ spirits, could systematically improve the lucid dream process. Daniel falsifies the facts, tried to trivialize it by saying I toned OM. In FACT, I toned specific frequencies of the lung healing sound. It has been used for two thousand years in China to awaken specific organ spirits into a lucid state. Daniel dismisses without any reasons the Taoist theory of our 12 human vital organ spirits being a reflection of the zodiac’s 12 constellation organization – As above, so below. The above is the Collective Dreamer, the below is our individual collective of internal voices. Daniel’s mind was too tiny to accept the possibility that our organ spirits (heart, liver, etc.) might have independent dreaming ability. He waves this off as being merely my “subjective” view. Here Daniel reveals the depth of his own ignorance. Taoist theory that vital organs are the sum total of a lucid body-mind (all thought, feeling, perception arise from them) is NOT MY SUBJECTIVE VIEW. The independent action of the zhang-fu (organ & bowel “orbs” or intelligences) is the FOUNDATION of two thousand years OF CHINESE MEDICINE. Certainly I have verified it to my own satisfaction in using it to heal hundreds of clients over the last 30 years, many with serious conditions. I get people to communicate with these “internal body gods” that dream our physical reality, to shape shift their patterns. The highest level of lucid dreaming requires the unification of them into a functional whole (the ling in Chinese, or soul). Correcting organ imbalances is the key to preventing and healing every chronic illness. This is NOT a rational chemical-mechanical process, the “car mechanic fixing a body” approach of western doctors. It is an organic intuitive process that involves bringing subconscious organ imbalances into lucidity, i.e. self-awareness. Chinese medicine uses vital organ pulse diagnosis, acupuncture, herbs, or qigong — all of which are done as systematic energetic interventions. These are not “rational” verifiable mechanical interfaces of the western type that Daniel favors. Nor is this Chinese viewpoint anti-western science. It is simply a DIFFERENT SCIENCE. An energetic science. Integrating Our Day Self & Night Self The main point of my talk was that vital organ healing can be done by DAY with qigong, or at NIGHT with Taoist dream practice, OR that we can create an interface between BOTH day and night self to enhance their mutual lucidity. All this is “rational” in the Taoist worldview. Its truth doesn’t require confirmation by “western rationality”, what Daniel calls “the facts”. Other presenters correctly pointed out that ALL western scientific theories are just “scientist’s BELIEF”. Western science is just a hypothetical worldview that has been dreamed up. The Periodic Table of the elements was literally discovered in a dream. DNA’s spiral shape was discovered by Watson and Crick using LSD to gain lucidity. Daniel is worried that lucid dreamers will be coerced into “conforming” to some foreign system of eastern belief. The Taoist approach never impinges on the freedom of the lucid dreamer. This is Daniel’s main fear, projected onto any idea or method outside his experience. Qigong and internal alchemy are focused on ENHANCING our human autonomy and authority within the lucid living & dreaming process. It’s not a limiting belief structure – it’s a dynamic liberating ENERGETIC PROCESS. Lucid Dreamers don’t need saving by Daniel from the brilliant and heart-felt information that was shared on qigong, OOB, shamanism, lucid dream writing, Taoist alchemy & qigong, and other topics. The conference was a beautiful, creative interplay of ideas and methods on shaping consciousness. Everyone at the conference took what they wanted, and left the rest. Nobody imposed their truth on anyone. There was a beautiful feeling of sharing. But Daniel’s own sense of “rationality” that he subjectively feels during his dream time appears to be threatened by the many different cultural viewpoints presented. He ends his article: “To become lucid in our dreams, we must act as independent, thoughtful individuals….not one who blindly accepts the world and ideas on belief and hearsay rather than facts and reality. Lucid dreaming is bigger and more beautiful than unsubstantiated philosophies and eastern mysticism”. This is Daniel at his Bogus Best. Since when has the dream plane become a “fact-filled reality”? Just because you verify that you are lucid dreaming by looking at a clock in the room? What if that clock and your entire bedroom are part of the physical plane being dreamed up by larger levels of Being? How are you going to “factually” verify that? It may be just too big for Daniel’s mind, to accept that you might lucid dream at that higher level of the Collective Dreamer. Perhaps he needs to lucid dream in the safety of his personal room and mind, not in the greater mind. Fine- but please don’t try to lock up everyone else’s mind inside your tiny room or your peculiar version of lucid rationality. Dreaming, Alchemy, & Modern Science
Double Torus may define the timelines in which we find ourselves dreaming…Torus is the energetic shape of the universe, from which it dreams all its sub-realities. Daniel completely missed the point that Taoist inner alchemy is a spiritual science that can be tested by anyone practicing its 9 Formulas. I described Taoist lucid dream practice as being able to shift one’s “assemblage point” along a continuum of day-night personality, soul, collective oversoul, and Source consciousness. Why is Daniel threatened by this systematic map? Because it crosses the life-death line, and he says he doesn’t want to know about death. Fine – but why project HIS fears of death and the unknown, HIS fear of the irrational – onto others who might find it valuable to explore that? It is widely accepted in traditional Chinese culture that these organ spirits have their own distinct intelligence. At death, everyone in China still wears white clothes at a funeral to calm the lung spirit (“po soul”), which is connected with the white metal element. They believe that if it is disturbed it may become a ghost that could harass the living and bring disease and misfortune. I believe this Taoist theory accurately and predictably explains the whiteness of ghosts in ALL cultures as FRAGMENTS of dead people that continue hanging out in the low astral after death, close to the physical plane. It’s not a superstition. Tao vital organ theory explains many OOB experiences. Someone watching their surgery from above the operating table and reporting accurately the doctor’s conversation is more likely a fragment of consciousness rather than the entirety of the person being operated on. Something has to remain in the body to keep it functioning, no? Humans as a internal collection of voices/spirits also explains the possibility of shamanic soul retrieval. Taoist Vital Organ Theory Explains Reincarnation Finally, scientific attempts to verify re-incarnation almost universally rely on accounts of children who remember having a VIOLENT & SUDDEN DEATH in a previous life – the exact condition that creates a disgruntled po soul/lung spirit. I believe it is the Lung spirit/po soul that is re-incarnating within a freshly minted new soul. This is also the view of the Ancient Egyptians (they used canopic jars to preserve the organ spirits of the dead). It is also the view of Rudolf Steiner – that each organ has its own re-incarnational history. But Daniel has perhaps been too busy dreaming in his small room to study what many others have investigated more deeply than him. If Daniel needs more “facts’ to calm his threatened sense of western rationality, he can find them on my website’s homepage link to 3500 scientific studies on the ability of qigong to heal disease. (https://healingtaousa.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?rm=mode2&articleid=40). That a large group of people doing qigong cut their mortality rate by 50% in a 30 year study is a FACT. The reason for qigong’s effectiveness is theory, and cannot be proven or disproven by Taoists or western scientists. But this is NOT VAGUE EASTERN MYSTICISM. If Daniel needs more facts, why not interview the people who took my Lucid Dreaming and Lucid Living Qigong seminar the day after the conference? One woman said she had not been able to sleep or dream well for a dozen years, yet immediately after the seminar slept for 15 hours with refreshing dreams. Her experience is a FACT; whether she continues to take that into dream lucidity is up to her skillful application of qigong and inner alchemy methods. But she is already living more lucidly. I strongly urge Daniel to read my extended essay on “Taoist Qi Science vs. Western Science: which is more real?” ( https://healingtaousa.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?rm=mode2&articleid=118) Western Science itself is Being Dreamed This essay is in my newsletter (free, if you want to sign up for it on my homepage. and get a free ebook on the Inner Smile, a fantastic tool for increasing lucidity). It evaluates the claims of the two sciences, one empirical, one energetic. If you don’t have time to read it, the short conclusion is that the two sciences have parallel identical archetypal structures. But the Taoists see all energy (Qi or Chi) as intelligent, unlike quantum scientists, that view it as mechanical and impersonal. And that attitude is slowly killing the viability of quantum physics. It’s a dying science – unless it embraces the reality of consciousness as the universal medium. I point out that EVERY ASPECT of western science is being “dreamed” or subjectively “imagined” by western scientists. The equipment being used to measure is dreamed up, the standards and goals for every science experiment are dreamed up, the method of evaluating the data are all subjectively dreamed up, the practical applications of science are dreamed up. I know this may be very challenging to Daniel’s “safe island” of rationality – but isn’t it better to apply some detached critical thinking about the dream underlying This is not to devalue modern science – au contraire, I love it. But my Taoist dream practice has taught me that different kinds of dreamers manifest different kinds of realities. There are three basic types of dreamers today: scientific, religious, and alchemical/transformational. Western scientists are external alchemists, dreaming up a particular organization of matter into physical objects that have a temporary existence, objects ranging from fleeting quarks to more tangible computers and cars. Religious faithful point their dream power towards manifesting their idea of God’s action in the world. Or they busy themselves dreaming up some version of heaven and hell. Taoist Internal alchemists and qigong adepts apply the same power of imagination to interfacing spirit and matter. Their dream is to build a more tangible Energy Body, their soul vessel. Lucid night dreaming is just one subset of that alchemical process. Can lucid dreaming be interfaced with other cultural viewpoints? I think the Gateways conference was fantastically convincing proof of their interconnectedness. Daniel’s article revealed his personal nightmare, his fear of “irrational” and “mystical” worlds unknown to him. I suggest that Daniel organize his own conference around his theme and see how popular it is or isn’t. He clearly isn’t open to methods different than his own. I look forward to attending future Gateways conferences, and hope all those who are sincerely interested in growing their lucidity will join me. 2014 Summer Retreat Schedule
