This is the website of a woman named Solara who created and leads the movement.

At first sight ‘New Age Wank’ would indeed be my term for it, but then I have no feeling for New Agery it just hasn’t been my scene. I can’t tell what’s good from what’s bad. It would’ve been dismissed in the same breath as Kryon or Pleiadians or whatever in most of the circles I’ve hung out in.
Now I’m very glad I pursued the question! I’ll tell ya why… What I really wanted to know (and what I can’t see digging through that site to find, even if it’s there, which it probably isn’t) is the answer to the question what came first – the date or seeing it on a clock. If people decided the date was important then that is the perfect way to make a thoughtform, which Freeform and I are catching waves of – so interesting to me! But not worth anything much. I really didn’t know about the date you see and what I thought was that the phenomenon began with people just noticing the time, that was what made it far more interesting to me.
So I say I’m glad I persevered (although I could probably have done it more politely and I’m sorry about that) because, well, to be frank about it, everything you said about 11:11 – that it’s invented, desperate people, nothing real in it, etc. – is being said about the Healing Tao right now somewhere. Wherever I go there is this huge thing of dismissing the other person’s way in order to feel superior about one’s own. I always like to look at the person not that practice, but… the thing is, you didn’t give an actual REASON for saying it was rubbish, it just looked like something you’d decided in a kind of exasperation. So it looked like more of the same thing to me. But the date thing makes what you say sensible.
Still… it IS kind of an excuse to do a piece of Ellwoodian magic I have been wanting to try, so I’m just going to do my little test anyway. Forgive me but even the phenomenon of a thoughtform which insinuates itself without any conscious knowledge is an interesting one to see in action. If that is what it is there should be a way to use the energy, if it is something else then… well…. ?????
Thanks for replying, I’m really glad you did.

It was the date – a date “channeled” by Solara and then acted upon. I have friends who were directly involved with that original group in ’92 who went to workshops and on trips to do things with her.
Since that time there has been a constant buzz among new agers about the date.
Best, A

I am surprised to find out that you two in particular did not know about the origination point of the numbers thing since you seem to be so worldly about spiritual matters and would have given more up front info about had I not assumed it to be more widespread knowledge.
I think there are good things that come from these movements, of course. And there is much channeled info that I like and have mentioned on this forum. But I am very sensitive to the delusions that we are apt to create in our growing process.
Thanks Freeform for pointing out my reaction to this. I find the underlying notion there is that I am trying to protect myself and others from becoming lost and that I am also trying to protect God’s world from being upset. It is like having to be a cosmic vigilante. This may be a good moment to go to the core state with him/her…
Aloha, Alexander

I really think this is an effect of the kind of syndrome I mentioned before, the I'm-the-real-shit-syndrome you could call it. If you run in the circles I run in New Age stuff just isn't mentioned and the net is damned huge you could never find it unless you were searching for it. Martial artists and magicians don't seem to mix with New Age people normally, there are exceptions.
BTW a cosmic vigilante is a cool thing to be thought, that's exactly how most magicians and martial artists end up anyway. And if anyone was ever right about anything, you're right about lots people being happy to look at cool numbers rather than do any actual work. I've seen plenty of that. But in the end you can't be responsible for all of them! j
