speaking of which it’s terribly frustrating when people get pentacles all messed up..
a shallow level is deinitely that the Pythagoreans saw life as five ness.. soul’s as quintessence.. spirit as pentacles..but just like live evil, evil was often thought to go in reverse resulting in the upside down pentacle as negative force which gets it all murky and confused with femininity and dark force eve..
this is a really deep discussion, but,
it’s my understanding that 6 is hexagonal and was at some point seen as “material”.. like a cuboctahedron where, if you look carefully, there are six hexagonal planes within the three dimensional symmetry of it.. the hex somehow lock fixes or equliaterally contains something..or at least that’s my take on it..

If so, I would like to know why…there is a lot of misunderstanding and misuse. If there is a problem with talking about it I ask for an open discussion instead of erasing. Maybe I am missing some angles that are interesting for me to know.

I live in a city where many very dark sided energies are working and trying to counter force the spiritual people living here. Many of us are very much aware of this and we feel it is time to unite.
We had a tao basic course going on this past weekend and we put our energies in the city. And guess last night we were visited by the shadow elements to freak us out.
Although we did a very good ‘clearing’ job in this house, the bastion is keeping an eye on us and is trying to make things difficult.
They succeeded in one thing, we will sell the house and move to a more peacefull spot, for the sake of the children.It is very difficult to explain in short postings what we are going through in this city, but the light and dark are sharpening their knives. It is not fantasy, it is very much alive.
While the pentacle has many dark connections, we need to transform it into a tool of light.
This city has a nick name, ‘those who put out the moon’, read the female energy, one church particular is holding the madonna into her spell. That church has a very dark energy and is manipulating the female energy, controlling her by keeping her in the most dark church.
I can tell many stories and things that are happening at the moment, very weird stuff.
I am surprised that this pentacle posting is erased because it is in fact in an invitation to use this symbol in a positive way…I’m coming to taoism from a very pagan background –pagan meaning a religion worshiping the earth (not satan), and i also know the pentacle to be a positive, protective sign. i don’t know what you had posted before, but i am interested in this conversation.

There are studies in the religious communities showing that the number 666 from biblical texts has been mistranslated – I can’t remember what the number actually was or where i read that, but doesn’t that put a kink in the end of the world 666 stuff if it’s true.What is a hex? And, what do you guys mean with pentacle? Do you mean the pentagram or something else?
If it is the pentagram I don`t think it`s related to dark forces (as in evil), when positioned so that it points up. I read an interesting thing about the reversed pentagram. It`s not evil per se, it supposedly attracts energy and what not to the person, while the »regular« one sends it out. So maybe the reversed one is seen as selfish and hence evil…
Also, why is 666 so often attributed to the devil? I read the bible, it doesn really say devil there. And I think it is very possible that it was mistranslated, like Treesinger said. If not mistranslated, at least misinterpreted.
To Treesinger: than we have a common root, I started off with the Asatru pagans. Because there was no real deep practice involved other than connecting with nature energies and symbolic rituals, I looked for a more deepening practice and ended up with daoism, which gave me more practical working material…The pentacle/pentagram is a wide spread symbol representing the 5 phases. I don’t see I have to shut about that?
