Recently and due to some problems I have had I switched to doing the Five Elements sitting whilst watching a slideshow of images on my laptop, I scoured the internet for images that worked for me and learnt a lot trying the Elements with different imagery.
I have kept the following two images for the Earth Element.
The first is a wonderful natural scene, a 1400 year old tree in the fall with yellow on the Earth and also growing outward from the tree. Breathing outwards from Tan Tien I can use this image to complete the cycle of five.
The second, the Yellow Emperor, I use after to close the practice. It has a different flavour. Instead of being part of the circle of 5, it draws in the energies to fuse in the centre, and I use a breathing-in gesture to fuse and concentrate the chi. Firstly it is concentrated at Tan Tien, but it is more my interest to fuse the chi at the Solar Plexus. And at the same time to sit down in the Solar Plexus, to take my seat and BE there. Just like the Emperor is taking his seat in his throne. This is also marked on the robes of the Emperor himself, a circle is marked in the centre below the breast at the Solar Plexus.
