Common English translations in a daoist context:
Xin: heart, mind, consciousness.
Wu: nothingness
Xu: void, emptiness
Kong: emptiness, (emptiness from respiration-kongqi)
Literal meanings:
Xin: heart, mind, mood, motive (consciousness)
Wu: none, without, (the absence of) (immaterial)
Xu: unreal, humble, empty
Kong: (from root cave) empty, space, vacant, sky
