I have been watching lately as many explanations of where we come from and how things have happened to get us to where we are now have surfaced in my world.
I am beginning to think two things. One, that we are a vastly diverse group of beings who come from many backgrounds (universes, creations…) and are convening here for a purpose. Or that, two, we have created various “sub-reality” versions according to our own makeup (kind of like the tower of Babel story) and that we are going to see them all dissolve into a splendid unity of ultimate truth as we traverse into higher dimensions of reality (vibration, consciousness).
The contrast created by entertaining the differing views and explanations provides a sort of crisis within me which forces my psyche to feel more deeply into the underlying levels of energy and sense about for the most nurturing feelings to know what the truth is at the time for me. The words and the stroies I take to be “leads” or guides, rather than absolute truths, that point the way and allow me to develop more sense of self.

November 26, 2006 at 4:55 am #19416Alexander AlexisParticipant“so we spend 2160 years in each constellation right?”
Yes. Approximately.
“I wonder how that plays into the Star tribes, that michael W mentions in his lectures”
I’m not familiar with this.
“(other than the idea of the virtue qualities from each direction)? would be nice to have some clarity on that.”
I’m going to think about this some.
“In daoist cosmology there are 10 celestial stems and twelve terretrial branches, so this is reversed (the twelve constellations), and all of them seem to fall into the four directions, so maybe we crossed from one of the four directions into the next as well, another reason for the psychic shift?”
According to information put together by Daniel Giamario, who created Shamanic Astrology, in his conversations with Jan Meuss, an astronomer who did calculations on this for him, we crossed over the 13,000 year mark (1/2 of the 26,000 year precession cycle) back in May of ’98. This is taken from our relationship to the center of the galaxy, astronomically. (Please don’t ask me to explain this in detail!) Therefore, we are completing our spin around and are literally moving back to Source.
Personally, I believe that while this is really good information for our minds, it is more important to remember that this outer picture is reflecting the inner changes in consciousness we are going through.
Anyway, it’s a really big and exciting picture, no matter what system you use to clock it with.

Briefly:
1. If you develop astral senses you can talk to nature spirits – they are all over. Very good exercise to try and spot the most alive trees and rocks in your area!
2. I developed the ability in part by learning to communicate with entities I myself created, which is the most magical fun you can have if you are into it. “Creating Magickal Entities” by Cunningham/Ellwood/Wagener is a good resource for this.
3. The work of Franz Bardon and some of his followers is very good for information – Bill Mistele’s homepage may interest you. I haven’t got the address but if you google you’ll find him.
4. Pure beast spirits can be attracted by shamanic means, I like the method given in Jan Fries’ ‘Visual Magick’.
5. The absolute best system for getting to know higher entities that I have found is to go to where they are by astral travel.
6. You can evoke/conjure/summon entities by traditional methods. There are grimoires both ancient and modern if you prefer to build upon the observations of others.
7. For reasons I cannot guess really, this kind of work is becoming alot easier than it used to be, things are more accessible if I can put it that way. However alot of it is still advanced work and a lifetime’s specialization like alchemy.
I’m sure that you can discover more for yourself.

and Nnonnth and Chris I don’t get the picture done, so Nnonnth a frog is okay with me :))
November 26, 2006 at 9:27 am #19422NnonnthParticipant>>It seems that at some point shortly after the life of jesus, western spiritual evolution was hijacked into supporting the “dissolve yourself” path rather than the “individuate yourself” path, would this be the result of higher forces at play, humans own inner resistance, or both?<<
I'm no astrologer, but I would plump much more for the resistance thing.
You have to remember that other kinds of spiritual work *did* survive; witchcraft, alchemy, mystical judaism, etc. It's just that they were very underground – much more so than the Mystery Schools, say, which although secret were acknowledged in classical times as the fount from which the life of the Greek cities sprang.
So it's much more the *official* spirituality which suggested giving up the self. Official = control = fear = resistance.
I hate to keep bringing political considerations into this, but I didn't start it! The fact is that everyone hears about spirituality from *somewhere*, and unless you are a curious person you will accept the programming. You could do alot of digging and find Hermetics like they did in renaissance times – but they were the few aristos who could read Greek and afford to search for the books.
I certainly feel that the Gnostic-style 'Cathar heresy' is instructive here. In the Languedoc region of France they became very successful, and it is instructive that in their alternative form of Christianity people were encouraged to read and to interpret creatively. Naturally the church simply murdered them all by armed force, as an intolerable threat – at that time it frowned upon the ability to read in the average churchgoer. Might give them ideas. A woman who could read would have been a disgusting object to a devout moyen age Catholic, and the clergy in those days actively prevented laymen from even obtaining a copy of the bible!
If you can't lay hands even on the one sacred book your religion allows as valid, and couldn't read it even if you did, you have a problem coming to your own conclusions. Never mind that if you happened to disagree with it they might decide to torture you into confessing worship of satan and burn you. Under such conditions, the church's instruction to give up your own existence and dissolve makes a great deal of sense – from the point of view of social engineering that is.
The issue of women is also an important one to me here. A very good read on this is "The Hebrew Goddess" by Raphael Patai – again the work of a scholar rather than a practitioner but I found it very readable. Even the gnostics allowed the importance of the feminine, although they reduced it to abstract terms and did not look at nature. Likewise the medieval kabbalists instructed that 'one must make love to one's wife on the Sabbath' (what to do if one *is* a wife is not related!) so as to help reunite the male and female aspects of God.
However these were aberrations in Western religion which quite honestly has never been comfortable with femininity when in monothestic form. Patai gives many examples of goddesses who were simply edited out of the bible by the rabbis, and it's most fascinating how important it was to the people – just as important as it was to the priesthood to root it out. That indicates a power structure at work.
The blessed virgin is still a very important figure in popular catholicism of course – but she has to be a virgin! That she might have sex and enjoy it (read about Inanna for a strumpet at her height!) is an idea most foreign to Christian spirituality. So you have alot of Catholic schoolgirls becoming strippers, trying to make up the deficit, which is widening under the influence of the gigantic rise in feminine energy that we are experiencing now.
Polytheism is another matter of course. Greek goddesses are highly interesting, whether of sex, victory, wisdom, art, death or monstrosity – they have *life*. Egyptian goddesses likewise, and my personal favourite literary mythos – the Sumerian – is perhaps a better guide than any for me.
None of the Greek philosophers had any problem with the idea of One Eternal God, and in the best of them this sat comfortably with a pagan perspective. No-one can deny that goddesses such as Athena or Astarte or Inanna have an empowering nature, and this nature was completely taken away from them in the rewriting/suppressing process, to make them the docile consorts of the great one.
Female heroes of the Buffy/Xena type are reflections of such goddess forms, long squashed – both sexual and empowering, and on the side of the people. Check out tribal bellydance too for example.
So self-dissolving is a male political-control concept to me, as much as a spiritual one.

November 26, 2006 at 9:33 am #19424NnonnthParticipant– you have to feel these stories, not be all literalist.
I also would say that there is a practical element too. As in, however it is that I find myself here right now, talking to you, well – here we both are! As in, what shall we *do* about it? That’s where following your own truth comes in I guess, like you’re saying, but also I admire the way people on this site are getting down and just doing the *work*. After all, you don’t need to know every little detail of the truth before you start – it would spoil all those lovely surprises wouldn’t it?

November 26, 2006 at 2:35 pm #19434wendyParticipantI had a strong sense you were into the Cathars. I believe we have a very parallell interest. I have a particular connection with the Cathars, as well with Sumeria.
I stayed at the foot of the fortress of Montségur for 2 weeks (where ‘the church’ burned men, women and children alive), kissed my partner for the first time in their last fortress of Queribus and we both feel very much protected by their spirits. Long story…As for Sumeria, this is a very very old feeling, connected to the stars…
As for the feminine, to my very surprise I learned that Americans are so shy, so alienated from the real feminine and so hypocritical that have no other tools than to transform it into something dirty, porn crap, abuse, Britney Spears shallowness. When feminine energy is released they have no clue where to hide, so attack it, especially deny it or manipulate it until it looks touchable enough, like a child play… even on this forum where one should expect some level of awareness I read, smell and sense that energy. No wonder women don’t feel welcomed other than being an appetizer, our words don’t have the same weight as that of men. But I don’t care, I keep on squeezing myself in the middle…with passion and patience…

I hear you and concur with your feelings about what has gone on. I was placing things in a wider context when I brought up the astrological correspondences. The statement I made:
“The horribly negative forms that manifested through all the Piscean energy – the loss of self in a negative way, self-sacrificing to get the love of God…- were the result, as I see it, of the unprocessed issues of fear and guilt in the human psyche that have needed to die in order that the race be reborn.”
…was intended to explain why it worked out that way through the last age instead of how it might have- in the spirit of oneness and divine love which Pisces represents.
Here’s to a transformed future!

Yes, that’s what I take embodiment/experience to be for.
“After all, you don’t need to know every little detail of the truth before you start”
Not possible anyway! Life is Mystery. We have to soak in it to “understand” it.
Good stuff, Alexander

Well you know I have to say, NOT ALL! Don't give up. You really REALLY should check out tribal bellydance, I have alot of friends who are into it and it started in the states – if you call san francisco the states… just check it out! I'm friends with a professional troupe of these ladies in London called Atalanta – you guessed it, Greek heroine!
Anyway we are the beginning of this new wave.
