hi everyone,
I’m looking for people who study/practice/and or teach anything related to the Tao, who live in Toronto, Ontario Canada. It seems that I can’t find a community in my area who share the same interest, so if any of you guys know people or live in Toronto, Canada please do give me a shout out. I’m specifically looking for a teacher in the Toronto area to act as a guide, or students who are in the same path so we can share experience/wisdom/knowledge with one another. Thanks guys for your time.
Best regards,
Ted =)March 13, 2006 at 9:26 pm #11430voiceParticipantHi Ted,
Give Barbara Kerslake an email at “bkerslake at aei.net”. She lives near Yonge and the 401 and teaches some classes out of her home. She is a Senior Healing Dao instructor. She teaches from the Mantak Chia perspective. She is a nice woman with whom I started my journey into Daoism. She does not have a magnetic personality, so hasn’t attracted a community around her, but she could be a start for you.
I live in the Niagara region. If you want to come down sometime, we could go meditate and do qi gong in some natural power spots I have found.
If you want to email me, do so at “clarsen3 at cogeco.ca”.

Thanks for your reply and thank you for your kind recommendations. I will let you know when I head to the Niagra region so we can meet up. I’m currently quite new to Daosim. I have been all over the place from yoga, to buddhism, to christianity, osho’s work, to now Mantak and Michael’s work. I think I most prefer the Tao and it makes most sense to me, at this moment and point in my life anyways.
I have Mantak Chia’s Awaken Healing Energy through the Tao, and Awaken Healing Light. I want to get started on the microcosmic orbit, but I’m reluctant to rely soley on the books, I prefer to have a guide to ensure I don’t hurt myself. Instead I have just been doing the inner smile, 6 healing sounds, and chi self-massage, and I hope its okay to do those excerises without having done the microcosmic orbit.
I will contact Barbara and see how it turns out. Thanks again Chris!
